The Camino Frances from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela an almost 800 km journey across northern Spain in the month of August with temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius in only 26 days. I am seventy years old and this my eighth Camino but my first Camino Frances. You ask why? then come with me in this journey to find out why I broke so many barriers and discover that the Camino Frances is effectively three different Caminos- the Pyrenees and la Rioja to Burgos, la Meseta to Leon and finally over the mountains into Galicia to Santiago de Compostela.
I was born in Spain but my family migrated to Australia in 1962 and I do Caminos to reconnect with my country of birth. I have done seven Caminos in the past, the Norte, Primitivo, Lebaniego, Vadiniense, Salvador, Portugues and Muxia Finisterre but this is my first Camino Frances. I am a bushwalker hiker in Australia and I have uploaded more than 160 videos in KZbin and 90% of my hikes are totally off track, no trails.
