I always wished to be part of the Camino De Santiago De Compostela, so I decided to explore the pilgrim's route here in Malta 38km long that connects to the Camino De Santiago de Compostela a ~3,600 km camino
over land and sea, connecting Malta to Sicily, Sardinia, Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela. Il Camino Maltés is a 38km route that takes you trough the villages of Rabat, Mdina, Zeggub, Qrendi, Zurrieq, Gudja, Ghaxaq, Zejtun, Zabbar, Cospicua and Vittoriosa. One can get a Kredenzal tal-Pellegrin ( like a passport that will be stamped on the way) from Local Councils, Police stations, Band CLubs and Heritage Malta SItes. To take most out of this I would do it in 2 to 3 sections .

For the first time, the more than 1,000 year old pilgrim route, now includes the Camino Maltés de Santiago de Compostela, (in short Camino Maltés) which will shortly be available for both local and international pilgrims to undertake by land and sea.

Thanks for the interesting trek/pilgrimage walk of the Camino Malte's De Santiago. Amazing how many Churches and Chapels one can encounter along the walk many of them are very old and so beautiful to see or visit. Enjoyed the vlog a lot as it is not easy to visit all those places in such a brief time. Well done Pierre and a very Happy New Year 2024 to all, lots of health, love and peace.👍👍

Congratulations for completing this impressive pilgrimage. I enjoyed seeing the rural roads through the various villages. We should be so proud of Malta and its rich history . The churches are so beautiful and so are the chapels. Thank you for this video.

We are doing this walk in next few days. Your Alltrails details are clear. Did you get the Camino litlle book stamped along the way or did you get it stamped after?

@larrymic2526 I didn’t cause with filming I had time limits. But you can. Also since it was winter, I wanted to end the walk in daylight but didn’t succeed . Started 7:45, ended 17.30

Great at video Pierre nice to see they added Malta in that trek and it looks like it works it's way through some lovely parts of the island. How did you find getting the stamps in the passport ? was it easy to the right people and places to get the stamps ? cheers

Thanks, stamps are free but had a problem , cause starting early hound heritage Malta sites closed. Many chapels were closed and some band clubs did . But if you wish more info you can contact caminomaltes.mt

In the description there ia a goole map route

@@PierreFarrugia If you follow that google map rout you will find that its quite vague. It jups from road to no roads across fields and jumps from road to road. I would have hoped for an accurate map. Its very vague and you have to guess a lot. Do you have an altrails map of what you actually did Pierre as the google map provided is unuseable in my view.

@@PierreFarrugia Got the GPX file thanks. Trying to make sure I can follow it. Looks ok but when you get to Siggiewi your on Triq Mons Mikkel Azzoparidi and you veer off to the right into nothing and suddenly appear in Siggiewi. Is that a clear field or something that you take a shortcut? Many Thanks Pierre
