Best vehicle that worked for me: Take a Barkas van (all around windowed if possible) and put a Golf diesel engine in it. Super efficient, decently quick, great storage space and van life feeling. I highly recommend trying that.

Stick with the truck but put the V8 in it and fury wheels (You get more ground clearance so less likely to die from hitting a tall rock and coming to a dead stop)
