They let cheaters get away with just enough so they want to buy the game over and over again. There's got to be a business model somewhere that knowingly encourages this toxic behavior.

I think it is a problem with any game and if it was entirely intentional they would be banning them instantly but as Camomo shows, many accounts don't get banned for a long time even when blatantly cheating. Lesson is to try to only play servers with active admins and avoid official altogether

The worst part about blatant cheaters not ALL being banned is this: How many players are able to use ESP only and hide their cheating well, and never get caught? I suspect some players can cheat for YEARS with just ESP and not get caught.

I love you put the profiles up, it helps escalate the bans. after a while you just get used to banning all the people you ban no questions asked, because you can just trust you picked em. Just need an "easy ban list" for servers to run that you add to.

I'm kinda curious, is it also bannable when I use game exploits even though I'm not using any cheats like just using all the unpatch stuff in the game? Because I know a lot of exploits in rust and most are game breaking. I've discovered most of it on a single player gameplay and I kinda wanna try it on public server just to troll people, so I'm kinda curious....

Nothing prevents you from setting a profile to private. Steam will gladly always display your game and VAC bans regardless of any settings to warn people of this scum of the earth.

Had run ins with 12 being called on me in the middle of the night because I was smoking weed in my car this past winter (didn’t want my momz home smelling like loud, and my baby nephew was there). They told me that if they’re in the ignition that I can get got. Your part makes sense as well. They were called because “i was sleeping/passed out/dead in my car” and “my music was too loud.” Cop pulled up and was like, “I didn’t even hear your music when I pulled up.” Each time (save for the first time when I had a warrant) they didn’t care. They were frustrated with my neighbor because everytime they were called, it was a nothing burger. God I hated living in that cul-de-sac…. But, I’m on probation now and my life is fantastic! Every one always dogs on EAC without understanding how it really works. EAC only works on detecting known processes running, Which any decent cheat will be undetectable to since it will be recompiled each time its started giving it a different PID and Checksum. And checking for hooks in known memory locations, Which is also quite useless for a unity game since its C# so basically the source code is available to any one de compiling it. So its easy to find a thousand different places to hook to do the same thing and ends up being a game of cat and mouse, With cheater makers have a lot more free time and money to make over EACs efforts to block them. And lastly it takes screen shots which is also some what useless since EAC doesn't have root access so has to use the windows API to call a screenshot. Which cheats can just watch that API then disable any on screen drawing during screen shots. To fix it facepunch would need to make the server validate every action of a player which will be a massive load on the server and server pop would drop to 100 players max if not less. Lastly you may think full auto shotty, bow and what ever is crazy but its not actually fully auto. Its just the animation thats getting played since its a simple RPC call. Its not actually shooting any bullets.
