Sorry for the late reply Sam! Honestly I get why it’s scary but you’ll be absolutely fine and so many people are in the same position. Just take each step as it comes and before you know it you’ll be having the time of your life out there! 🥳

Hey, how’s it going. Was just wondering what the visa interview was like? Have mine on Wednesday so just having a look at what types of questions they may ask and other stuff?
@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
Hello! It’s pretty straight forward and Camp America definitely prepped me with what to expect when I went, just make sure you take all the necessary documents and they will probably just ask what you will be doing in America and maybe what you do for work/studies/other in the UK now. It can be a lot of waiting around and they do take your phone off you for security so I’d suggest taking something like a book for entertainment :)

does the camp pay for the “travels” or is that completely independent from the camp and just your own enjoyment?
@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
That’s completely independent and you pay for and plan your travels yourself. But you could definitely use some of the money that camp paid you towards your travels :) Some camps do trips during the summer though which might mean you go away to another place for a few days!

Hey Maisie . You said you got 700 for your salary is it for the 3 months or is a weekly basis.
@MaisieCraddock Жыл бұрын
Hello! Camp America salaries are just like pocket money and not an actual so this was for the 2 months I was there. The reason it's so low as Camp America the agency take a portion from your salary to cover all the other bits they look after you with

hey babe ! I was wondering if I would have any problems with my tattoos there. My tattos are not wild or not disturbing but they ask in application .Should I be worried ?
@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
Hey beaut! No don’t worry at all! I know a few people at camp that had tattoos and never heard it was an issue. It may just be asking you as some camps may have stricter rules than others so they will just make sure to place you in one where it won’t be an issue - which will be for the best anyway as you don’t want to end up at a really really strict camp anyway! 🥰

Hi I have been placed at a summer camp but in Canada and I think I’m going to be working on ropes I’m just wondering if the experience would be similar to america and what I could expect
@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Congrats on being placed and the ropes sounds so much fun. It will be very similar to America, I had a friend that did camp in Canada! Her camp was a little more chilled than mine in terms of rules but as I say in my “what camp is really like” video, things can vary from camp to camp. I’d just say expect a jam packed summer with lots of walking, sleeping in bunks, fun activities, lots of kids and amazing new friends! And with your role it will be one of the most popular with the kids as it’s so fun, but will come with all the health and safety aspect too but you won’t be alone x

Hi, I'm looking to go in 2023 but I was just wondering if you can still fill out an application when they open for 2023 and go to the recruitment fair in that year or if you only go to the recruitment fair. I'm just worried that if I fill in an application and get a response then I wouldn't be able to go to the recruitment fair.
@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I’d say fill out the application and just go to a recruitment fair as soon as the first one for 2023 comes up. Normally you wouldn’t get placed before the time of a recruitment fair anyway if you’re applying so early. In terms of my timeline, I applied online in September and then did my interview in October and then went to a recruitment fair in the November and got placed. But because I’d already done my online application and interview, I didn’t have to do all that after the recruitment fair (which if you just went to the recruitment fair first, you’d have to do that after) It’s better to increase your chances and do both as early as poss :)

@MaisieCraddock2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say many people will call you - especially with WhatsApp and FaceTime, most calls and messages can made with WiFi / data. I couldn’t use any data but just connected to WiFi when I could! If you want to use your phone whenever though, just have a look into your own package and the roaming charges x
