Camp Ignite inspires young women to be firefighters

The Charlotte Fire Department is empowering young women through Camp Ignite. Its an experience hosted by CFD to give girls the experience of being a firefighter.

I want to see one of those women firefighters carry another woman let alone a man out of a fire after that person has been injured. There is a place for them, but it’s not on the front line. You can put tons of training into these younger women and all of a sudden they’ll be gone, child rearing might have something to do with it.

Yes, I agree with you. That’s why you see them as masons, bricklayers, longshoreman, drilling rig, roustabouts. There are many things that women are better than men, but don’t get the idea that they’re equal in everything because they’re not.
