Hey guys :-) Where did you buy the tent? Any links? I cant seem to find it, would love to purchase
@droux1003 жыл бұрын
So it's been many years since we camped but a few days ago I went and bought one of these tents which we'll be taking out for the first time in two weeks time. We did set it up in the garden yesterday to familiarise ourselves with the set up process and to ensure that all the poles, pegs, etc. were there. My 12 year old grandson assisted me to assemble the tent and we were done in about 20 minutes. This tent has space galore and is value for money! So far I am extremely happy with this purchase. Can't wait to spend a weekend away in it in 2 weeks time. I have a smaller Campmaster tent and have never had issues with leakage so hoping that the 820 will meet expectations.

think about utilising mayo lids or something similar under your table so it doesn't create holes in the groundsheet. keep on camping. thanks for the video.

How's the tent holding up after 18 months? We're pretty keen on this one but I've heard a lot about Camp Master not surviving harsher conditions and having bad poles etc?

This tent is still holding up - strongly built and great spaces. We could not recommend it more.

Thanks for the reply - we decided to get one and tested it out this weekend - really a great tent and super sturdy in heavy wind. Unfortunately our gazebo didn't survive, and put holes in our new tent when it collapsed :( Great review thanks guys you really helped us in deciding :D
@ninageorgebenjamin37006 жыл бұрын
I have a question, I hope you are able to provide some guidance. We recently purchased the campmaster family cabin 510. We found that it did not hold up well especially in windy weather, which actually resulted in breakage. The pole structure at the back of the above mentioned tent seems quite similar to that of the 820. How has your tent held up under harsh weather conditions? Also, what is your opinion on a 8 sleeper Dome tent also with two separate sleeping areas and a common area. I have read that dome tents are more reliable in harsh weather conditions, but it is a lot smaller than the 820, so we are torn.
@ThaliaShepherd6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nina. Sorry to hear about your tent. So far, our 820 has held up very well in both windy and rainy conditions. I think the L shape gives it a lot of stability. Domes are known for being very stable, but you lose some space. The 820 offers both space and stability (perhaps not as much as a dome, but sufficient for our local conditions). If you are camping with your family, and want a common area that allows an indoor/outdoor setup, I would go for the 820. But if you plan on camping in harsh conditions regularly, definitely a dome. We typically try to pick decent weather days, but aren't always so lucky, but our tent has done well so far. Have absolutely loved it.

That's a fabulous tent, but don't you worry about animals getting into the kitchen area? Which leads me to my next question. Do you have animals like Raccoons there?
@ThaliaShepherd7 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) We don't get raccoons or other foraging creatures here. Our biggest worry around this area is baboons but they won't break through the tent sides to get in, and we put a lock on the zipper so creatures can't luck their way in :)
@LostOnLandAgain7 жыл бұрын
Wow, how cool! I would never keep food in my tent anywhere in the U.S. There is always some creature willing to break and enter and help themselves to lunch.

OMG, never ever keep, prep, store, or eat food in a tent. That is tenting basics 101 There's a reason why people use gazebos. Otherwise, nice.
@ThaliaShepherd6 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thank you for your message. We have never heard this before. Please let us know why not to do this?
@Cre8tive816 жыл бұрын
There are many sources online that say the same thing. It comes down to personal property damage, safety and having food for yourself when getting back from a hike etc. rather than feeding the local wildlife. If you've never had a break in by any critter big or small, consider yourself lucky. Generic tips include, lock inside a car away from where you sleep.. hang in a tree.. or place into a bear bin (works for all animals). www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/food-handling-storage.html campingmastery.com/how-to-store-food-camping/
@lwest31376 жыл бұрын
100%. Small animals can eat through the tent walls just to gain entry. They will enter while you sleep just to gain access to your food. Also, keeping food or cooking tools (anything with a food scent) can attract larger animals that could turn a happy camping trip into a dangerous risk. Other than this, the set up looks absolutely lovely. Really the only change I would consider is a separate food prep/storage area. ☺
