So there can only be a varicose vein WHEN A VALVE IN A COMMUNICATING (PERFORATING) VEIN HAS FAILED. So to remove varicose veins it suffices to strengthen JUST THE VALVES IN THE COMMUNICATING VEINS. Is there ongoing research into how this could be done?
