Camper Van Project - Cello's 32 inch Solar Powered TV! (worlds first)
This isn't a paid promotion, Cello have nothing to do with this video or know about it.
Unboxing the TV, What it comes with for any of those interested in seeing what you get for you money.
Building a Campervan and this TV works either from 230v, 12v or solar. It comes with everything needed to work out of the box. I literally unopened it, plugged in the ariel and solar panel and boom, worked... How ingenious is that.

My name is Wes Lacey.

A few facts about me:
I lost my son aged 4 to Dipg, he literally died on my lap 10.02.2020. He was called Jack Lacey (search him up) and was my best friend and one of the biggest loves of my life.
I've Completed the coast to coast twice on bicycles. Once on a MTB offroad and once by Road Cycle
I've ran both a marathon and completed a 50 mile Fell race (Ultra marathon)
I have completed both Yorkshire and National 3 Peaks Challenges
Ive been to University twice, to do Fine Art, and a PGCE in Design and Technology
I'm a black belt in Karate
I've camped extensively around the UK and studied Bushcraft for a long time
Some of my passions involve Photography, Camping, Climbing, Cycling, Off-Roading, Making, Psychology/Philosophy, Finance, Trading, Drawing, Bushcraft, Learning, Running.
I have 2 other children (Charlotte and Beau) whom are the reason i'm still here, doing what I do.

Just bought their 22" version for my boat. Doesn't come with the solar stuff buts runs directly from 12v and only consumes 22w when on. Thats very low and certainly makes it very usable for evening entertainment.USB & smart functions too. These LED tv's have certainly made the use of tv's in mobile applications usable compared to years ago.

Yeah, they're so amazing. To think when I was a kid those little handheld tvs with a big pull out ariel, screen no bigger than a teabag were like the absolute dogs b. I still can't get my head around the fact that I can drive where I want and sit down and watch any film from prime Netflix sky or wherever. Crazy

Glad you like the cello solar TV I've had mine (22") about 2½ years now. The remote takes a bit of getting used to doesn't it. I'm ordering a solar panel next week, I didn't chose one originally I've simply been using the 12v charger off my leisure battery. Question ... what happens (if anything) if you turn on the 12v vehicle charger during the day whilst the solar is connected? Thanks

Nothing mate. It charges the battery along with the solar I guess. Sometimes if the solar hasn't charged it much that day, I'll plug it in to top it up.

@@wjlacey Thanks for that, I cut the cigarette plug off my dc charger and connected via a switch direct to the leisure batteries. I flick it on when I'm travelling and if I remember off when I park up. In case anyone is interested the 22" use a slightly different model of solar panel a SFM30W yours is a SFM40W because you luckily have the 32" hope this helps someone else.

Can't believe how stupid I've been... the single TV power input socket is used for both the DC power or the solar pv panel input.... interchangeably.

Is the panel waterproof? Did you end up mounting the solar on the roof?

100%, its made as an outdoor panel. I mounted it on the roof with a cable entry 'gland'.

Pretty cool for tent camping, not sure i see the point of having a solar charging TV in a van that alrteady has a solar and battery set up though ? Be handy for a day van that has just the single battery system, keep the kids quiet in the back (if that is possable) lol

The solar in the van charges my batteries which powers my sockets, lights, pump, diesel heater. If i can reduce the toll on them in some way, it makes sense to do it. Thanks for watching.

Great video - I like your style! I was searching for a review for the Cello C22277T2S2 and came across your video. Thanks so much for posting. Did the portable arial work inside the van - did it have to be near a window? Also, did you end up mounting the solar panel outside? Thanks very much, the ariel works when put in the rooflight, to be honest though if I was set on watching live TV I'd buy one of those ariel boosting antennas that you fit to the roof as it isn't the best. The solar panel is mounted outside yes, I rang cello and they told me that it's perfectly suited to the elements. Thank you for the support, did you find out in this video? I can't remember if I mentioned it here.

Just heard some disappointing news, I phoned Cello to see about getting another solar TV. Apparently they have stopped production as the cost of the TV screen has risen to an unacceptable level. I asked if they thought this was a temporary problem but no it looks like its the end.

@@wjlacey ohhh thats not good for tou at all.. Yes... I was thinking of upgrading mine (it's still working touch wood) so I gave them a call. This morning I've been quickly re-researching and very similar models appear to be available on alibaba etc but more checking needed.
