Brilliant guys thanks for that. We love our wild (Campervan) camping and due to have a look at Mam Tor this week on our way to Scotland and the western Isles. But hoping for a couple of nights where you were. Unless it snows! thanks for the warning. Loved the bit at the beggining with the music. We try to make vids like that. Beautiful Tim a real intimate feel to the filming on this one & showcasing the area to it's stunning best.agree with what you say I love the lakes but the peaks are my first love,there's always that pull to get me back there if I've had a break from being up there..in winter too the area is absolutely stunning but can be so unforgiving & people don't give it the respect it requires,you can easily get into bother when the weather turns up there. All the best to you & Mandy & hope 2020 is filled with health & adventure..Andy.

Thanks Andrew we love your films of this area they are an inspiration to everyone who wants to venture out. I know what you mean about this area being unforgiving in the wrong conditions, we got caught out early in the year on a walk, the winds picked up with some stinging hail, man it was brutal. I think people see this area as a bit of a playground compared to the lakes/scotland etc but I think its bite is worse than its bark if you know what I mean. Would love to do some stuff in the snow, but I need to get my fitness up. Please say hello to Chris if you ever get to bump into him :) Tim/Mandy

Fantastic footage of your visits and a real sense of a wee community of people who share a common purpose in going to a beautiful place in their campervans. It even sounded like you secretly enjoyed those sub woofers and rave music ;-) Looking forward to more of your adventures in the year to come :-)

Good to see you back out mate, although I am only in Doncaster I have never yet been to Mam Tor! I have said for years that I intend to go ever since a fellow Radio Amateur friend went up with a handheld radio and managed to speak with a couple of us back in Donny. I have not walked for pleasure/leisure in years and keep threatening to, maybe 2020 will be the year? Either way once again it is good to see you both back on my computer screen once again :) I also sub to Bug Out Vehicles UK and noticed your quick interview with Rich, a bonus lol.

Funny, I have never been there, even though it is relatively close (we are in Durham) it seems very popular and looks very nice. We have only ever visited the Peak District once, for 4 days and it never stopped raining for one bloody second lol! We should go back, because, as you have proved, it does not rain all the time there and like I say, it does look very nice. I agree 100% with you on people jetting off all around the world, yet they has son many gorgeous places to visit where we are. I wish you both a Very Happy and Healthy New Year, cheers Alan

Great vlog Tim. You met some interesting people - I liked that truck from the Bug Out guys. I doubt if it moves without any carbon footprint mind you. Yeah, a lovely place. The only time I've been to the Peak District is with the army for an exercise. I do remember being impressed though. Well, all the best for the new year. I hope you get strong. Mark

How long were you in the army for Mark? I bet that was a huge part of making you into the person you are buddy and your love for the outdoors. The big overlander thing just looked like an adult tonka toy, very very cool, but I couldn't imagine driving that up to the west coast of Scotland. Anyway buddy have a wonderful new year full of peace and joy :)))) Tim/Mandy

@@savedpurplecat I went into the Parachute Reg with Paul Tim. The dream was to come back to Hereford and do selection for the regiment and be like dad. It never worked out. 18 months but a good insight. Yeah a big cumbersome truck that. I'll do my best for the new year. If interested I have an interesting walk uploaded tomorrow. Peace to you and all. Still connected bro.

Always a pleasure seeing a 'Cat' video! I'm not familar with that part of the Peak. I've started exploring the area not far from you since my eldest moved to Mobberley which is not far from the White Peak. Shutlingsloe, Shining Tor, Axe Edge Moor etc...I'd probably be more inclined to tick off these places on a day visit rather than stay over as it looks so busy and not the best place to wild camp and have the place to yourself! I'm a bit of an Alfred Wainwright when it comes to crowds in the hills!
@savedpurplecat5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Shutligsloe is a classic (The Matterhorn of Peak District) This is much closer to where we live. The roaches is also a belting area for walks, if your ever over this way and I'm fit give me a bell and I will meet up with you. Your right about broken road its getting more and more popular, 18 months ago there was about 3-5 max camping but now its getting a bit much. I don't mind other people around as long as they are not blasting out noise! Anyway happy new year :) Tim/Mandy
@blackdogwildtrails31235 жыл бұрын
@@savedpurplecat Haven't been to the Roaches for years. I've climbed there a couple of times. I guess once you are around the Cat & Fiddle area then its not that far from there. A gorgeous tapestry of footage, imagery and scenery - masterly edits, making permanent those memories, toped with a little of the quivering mountain and natures salt and pepper. The time-lapses too are epic. Would love a camper but maybe not the overlander variety! I quite like the T25... that is your current camper is it Tim? I don't think I have seen so many vans up there at Mam Tor. I always make a mental note of some possible wild camp spots but lately started to add campervan spots to the list along the way - so I must be destined to have one day. Well Tim, Hoping to see you winging to full health in 2020 and also see you & Mandy out again soon. God bless you both, Stephen.
@savedpurplecat5 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen thanks for watching brother, I really hope you get to use a camper van, I say use because nothing really belongs to us after all! we just acquire stuff along the way and then let it go again. We never thought we would ever own a van but lifes full of surprises, the good thing about a camper van is they tend to hold onto their value. The T25 is a great van, we had one but sadly it was completely written off by someone passing out at the wheel! we now have a transit LWB it suits our purposes. I still love to go out wild camping in a tent and am praying for the health this year to be able to do some more. Anyway my brother may God richly bless you this year, as you trust in him may he give you your hearts desire, press down shaken together and running over. :) Tim/Mandy
@StephenTurnockMIRPCertRP5 жыл бұрын
@@savedpurplecat Sorry to hear about the T25 Tim. Hopefully, no one hurt there. I’ve caught up now on your camper journey /transit conversion and so glad to see you bounced back. You are right we are custodians of stuff for a short time down here while passing through. Pilgrims we are.. thank you for teaching me re Dr Luke! When you think of all the things we had and lost along the way but also given. But one thing to hold onto with both hands is Salvation. He is more holding onto to us, in my case anyway and with endless forgiving. Thankfully! Well, I ventured into a static caravan a couple of years ago. Whilst it was near the end of its life on-site, it was pristine but lost out more than 100% in value by the time of its removal from the site recently especially once crane removal & disconnection fees were taken into account. Don’t want to even think about the total site fees paid as well. Lessons learned. Campervans are much more appealing to me now. If I get one I will blame you lol. ! ATB, Stephen.

It's so sad to see the state of the road today. Fifty years ago this village was wonderful, there was local people living here and it was a lovely peaceful village. I worked at the Nag's Head when it was a beautiful hotel. So many slobs or weekend wankers as I call them, turn up here and make it a shithole for two days a week.

If you put ‘Blue John Cavern’ into sat. nav. it will take you down this road which loops around at it’s dead end. The start/end of the broken road is also here.
