just a little trick- pull the handbrake button outwards and the handbrake will drop but not release, so you can rotate the seat. same feature on my Synergie/Evasion, the predecessor to the C8

You are not supposed to release the handbrake to rotate the seat. With the handbrake lever up, pull the end button out and let the lever drop to the floor. The brake will stay applied
