We love the freedom it gives us! We did our first pub car park stay over last night after owning our van for 4 months. Our next stay is on race course and after that we’ll be doing a tour. Then we’ll be on a campsite with family, some of these trips will include a number of nights staying in cities and towns for bit of Christmas shopping & site seeing plus drinking and eating. Hoping to do more tours next year and then Europe in 2026, so much to see over here first. Sometimes we just spend a night on a basic farm site near home just to chill and clear our heads after a week at work. You can either be spontaneous or plan as much as you want with any trip you make. Van is always about 80% packed, just need to add a change of clothes and chuck a bit of food & drink in the fridge, if needed. Those pizzas looked fabulous! We were in Grantham yesterday, at the Belton Estate.

I love my van - Ford Nugget - by day a brilliant family vehicle by night a cool comfy campervan. I can’t wait to get back to being spontaneous but for now kids activities take priority. It’s a home from home and ready to go in an instant. It also makes a fab day trip vehicle with everything you need for picnics / toilets / refreshments etc

Could you do a little show and tell on your cab blinds?

My Camper is also my everyday vehicle (Ford Nugget). We love how we can just check the weather forecast, book a short stay somewhere, pack quickly and head off on an adventure same day. Thank you for the informative and enjoyable content you create and share

I love the freedom the van gives me 🚐🐾☺️ the ability to go out and explore - stay a while - relax and yes stopover if can (though haven’t tried a pub stop yet there are a few locally that look good so who knows) I use it most days and love it

Agreed! I lost my tricked out Ford Transit in the Central Victorian (Australia) floods in 2022. Which was actually fine, since Mum's health soon rapidly declined, so I needed to be closer to her, plus she couldn't get in the van cab anymore (and it was my only ride). I decided not to replace since the idea wasn't to park a new, you-beaut van at hospitals or her retirement village - but fast-forward two years, and I deeply feel the loss of those spontaneous nights away. I also miss having tea and coffee facilities, a bed for a quick kip on long drives - you've been here, you know that most drives are necessarily long - and a loo everywhere I go! So I'm about to buy a 'stop-gap van' just for those things rather than the big trips: a micro-camper in a VW Caddy SWB.

We bought our T6 nearly 4 years ago and we enjoy the great outdoors, visiting new places and like you we don't plan to far ahead and wing-it. Found so lovely pubs and had some brilliant nights away.

We love our camper to escape work every couple of weekends and the dog can be with us 🚐🦮

Nicely done. We saw an interesting site, The Ship Inn, overlooking the beach at Sewerby, just north of Bridlington. Nightly fee but £15 off meal. Great walking along the coast at Flamborough.

Having our camper there is no need to drive home after a long day visiting old cities, historic sites and museums. Traveling around in GB, our favorit holiday country, is also a big “plus“. Thank's for the video Greetings from Stuttgart

Thanks for this nice video. As always, we really enjoyed watching it. We were especially excited that you visited Freiburg and the Bodensee area this year which is close to where we live. Interestingly we came a similar path as you. In 2020 we bought a California T6. Last year we switched to a T6.1. Because we had a very cold, wet and windy vacation in the south of France in April we changed to a Grand California and absolutely love it. And just like you we love to make “little escapes” over the weekend with it. Nothing too fancy, just being away and having some quiet days, walking our dog. Please keep up the great work with your channel

We love our van cos we have 2 Shih Tzu doggies and it’s so easy just to pack the van and go with no accommodation worries to think about….The Blue Dog is just down the road from us, though we’ve never popped in…Must give it a try.

So far our campervan trips, Bilbo's Celex LWB, have been very much planned ( due to work and home commitments) we look forward to greater freedom and spontaneity next year when we retire. 😀🚐🐾 xxx

Wow, check out the size of those pizzas. I’m now starving, lol. Plus you can’t wack a bit of Gary Newman Cars!. Can I ask, I see your dog mat has ‘please don’t disturb, on it. I’ve seen it on a few of your videos now. Is she timid? I know some don’t like strangers (our border would go with anyone! 😃) The reason we have our van is freedom, like you we booked two nights away only Wednesday night this week. Check where the weather is best and book. Clears the head, love the van as you work as a team and you just chill and talk. Oh nearly forgot, and the beers!. Keep up the good content.

The dog mat is more of a hang over from when we were training her when she was young. She's quite a sensitive collie and we have been training her to be more calm when meeting people (ie not jumping all over them!) so this has helped a bit. She's much much better now thanks to all the hard work Sarah has put in with her.

Do you use Brit stops ?
@CampervanTime3 ай бұрын
We have previously bought the britstops book before they sold their company out and stopped doing the book and moved to all electronic. Now we tend to use the searchforsites website to find stopovers, although obviously some britstops aren't on that. We might join britstops again at some point, just haven't seen the need recently.

I've been mulling over getting a campervan as we've just sold our static caravan. We also liked the fact that we could just get up and go whenever we could. However we're really struggling with finding the right layout that doesn't feel claustrophobic and has a toilet cubicle 😂 Also the prices! Wow, can you see them staying as high as they currently are? I suspect they'll come down. What do you think?
@CampervanTime3 ай бұрын
Worth going to the NEC show if you can make it, even if you are only checking out different internal layouts as there are some which are quite different. Murvi have very open layouts inside with a rear bathroom, for example. Prices, good question and nobody knows for sure, however I think because the base van prices have shot up for all models that has really impacted campervan prices (new) overall. Now is a great time to look around at dealers for new stock that might have been sat around a while because this is the time of year that new model years of van start to trickle through from manufacturers.

Is there a fee for pub stopovers?
@CampervanJon3 ай бұрын
Not normally, they just suggest you purchase a couple of drinks or a meal
@CampervanTime3 ай бұрын
We didn't pay to stay at this one and very rarely do get charged. They just ask that you have drinks/meal - we try to eat there if we possibly can because we think it's good courtesy to.
