Growing up in the 60/70s everytime my Dad came back from Vietnam my whole family would travel to Philadelphia to visit my Dads parents. They didn’t speak English only German. This allowed my Dad time to acclimate. We always went north and over camping in minnesotas Boundry waters I loved that time and the sounds. Someday I hope to take my family up there to understand why I love these birds and Minnesota so much. Oklahomas got nothing on it

I once fell asleep to the sounds of loons when I went on a camping trip to Montana with my boy scout troop as a kid. Never experienced such a good night's rest ever since.

Camped at a quiet secluded lake in Maine in the Spring/Summer every year, Lake Pocomoonshine. Used to wake up early and hit the lake to fish, just to watch in awe as the fog cleared as the sun arose and exposed us to the mammoth moose eating breakfast around us. We wouldn’t catch much of anything, lots of pickerel, but the sounds of loons filled our campfire stories and laughter and warm bodies and souls. Their calls are so striking, like life, beautiful and haunting all in the same vocalization.

This brings me right back to listening to the sleep/white noise machine I had as a kid. I'm from vermont and this just brings me right outside, puts me right to sleep, thank you :) you should look at making an aquatic/whale song themed video if you feel inspired :) thanks for making this I've been listening to it for the past few weeks :)

Lol...growing up these loons in the distance used to scare 😨 me! Every time my friends and myself watched a Bigfoot documentary back in the 70s, you would ALWAYS hear a loon in the distance right before The Squatch appeared!😱😨. Or the movies where a marauding grizzly was eatting all the campers! 🐻😬😱. NOW I can just laugh 😅 @ it!
