State parks allow metal detecting there?

Yes, in restricted areas though. So this park you can detect all of the campsites and the swimming /beach/picnic and play areas. They do not want you in the woods though. 👍🏻 You can usually find a map on the park website that has the areas highlighted ok for detecting.
