Great to have two favorite overland campers in the same video. We live in such a beautiful country and you guys show us how to enjoy a part of it. I was stationed on the coast line of Oregon in 1969 and would love to live there again.

I have a ‘90 Westfalia, all original and stock, and my family of 4 can travel for nice weekends. Amazing the packaging of this van that can sleeps 4, store all kins of stuff, a fridge and a cooktop, but can fit in my garage to keep the rust away. The bad: can’t do much more than 65 for cruising, reliability is always in the back of my mind, and you just can’t bring everything with you (bikes for 4, diving equipment, etc...). I had a 97 FZJ80 for a couple of years, sold it to try put the van because the aftermarket for Land Cruiser is just so expensive. What i learned: love the Westy, but i can’t wait to get back into an 80 series: it really was reliable, comfortable, and i would settle for a huge full length roof rack, nice awning with room, self built cargo boxes, a Jackery for juice, and a nice tent. It would do it all and carry it all.

Cascade Lakes scenic hwy is such a beautiful area. I love working up there in '95 after the big windstorm that year. I worked as a temp for Descutes County road dept on the hazard removal crew. Tons of trees got blown down across the road. There was 8 of us cutting and removing the trees. On the big stuff we'd climb and chip the small stuff and cut the bigger stuff into 16-18" lengths and stack in piles all along the road. Meant to be free for anyone that wanted to go and load it up. Was a great help to a lot of people that needed heating wood.

No doubt the concept has some great possibilities but I think that in the end, it comes down to preference. Could be a little cramped with dogs, but individually probably not a bad set up. I like the usability of dropping your living quarters and traveling with my truck to do other things. (My preference of course) However, Chad does that as well. Hah!

Chads van is my favorite bar none.I think I may be his 1001 sub lolI am building my own 99 ford now. The problem with vans is finding your van in 4WD.I Getting firewood in the van sucks. I miss my truck then. I love the vans though. Pull up and let the adventure continue.

I think it's the fact that being out in the wilderness and cooking over a fire (or near a fire in this case) make any food taste amazing. You could have the simplest meal and it would still taste outta this world. We don't have the fire bans in Michigan, so anytime I camp I try to cook over a campfire.

This old woman (59) in Sweden are following both channels, looking for ideas for my own Opel Vivaro 2015 ('Hercules'). I am living fulltime in my van - just got it almost insulated and only have a small bed and a bench in it yet. Grow up with my parents' self built motorboat, so we were "camping" all free time from school/jobs - AND in a unfinished boat 😆
