Nice video! So great to have the area to yourself! 😊 I am gathering ideas (equipment, etc) for next spring! I will be looking for a good air mattress! We live in Maine so we do not have to worry about snakes. 😂 Thank you for sharing your trip! Happy New Year! 🎉

Thank you so much! Good luck gathering your equipment. I love my Unigear Camfy P3 sleeping pad. I tried three other sleeping pads before I discovered this one. I don't feel the ground at all, and it is comfortable to me. It isn't rated for cold temperatures, but I use a piece of reflectix cut to the size of it, and I don't feel the cold air from the ground. Anyway, best of luck - Maine is beautiful!!!

you need a four-season tent. invest in heated Sleeping bag. Old camper here... Doing great keep going.

Thank you for the advice. I'm debating on getting a four-season tent, but I've never heard of a heated sleeping bag! That sounds amazing!

Greetings from and old Scot living in Spain. Nice one. Keep going with the channel but please keep a beady eye out for those widow makers, especially when you can see a lot of fallen trees and branches. Spend at least as much time looking up as you do looking where you put your feet. x

Thank you so much for that advice. I do spend a lot of time looking at my feet because of the snakes in my area, but, yes, I need to look up more. FYI, Scotland is my favorite place in the world!! I have a friend that lives near Lanark, and I am a member of a birding forum that watches the osprey cam at Loch of the Lowes. I visit Scotland at least once a year, and I love it.

I am in North Texas, and I am lucky to be near this Nature Reserve that has primitive camping. It's not the most scenic place, but it gets me out in the serenity of nature.

Armadillos!!! Oh my goodness!! Is this TX? Is that the Brazos?
@freerangesy890316 күн бұрын
Yes, it's Texas, but it's not the Brazos, it's a branch of the Trinity River. Good guess though!
@notquiteultralight170115 күн бұрын
@ AAAHHH yes yes… I was born in Fort Worth so I’m familiar with the trinity river. I don’t go to Texas anymore. Worst times of my life were in that state. I know it’s irrational and not fair to judge a state by my own life experiences but I can’t stand the place. Looks like you had a great time though and honestly, I had no idea that there were state parks out there safe enough to hike into and spend the night. Hopefully at some point you get to try out Maine or out west for some backpacking trips. Take care and peace to you and yours. 😊🙏

Thank you so much. I do make safety a priority, and I'm in Texas, so as far as a weapon goes...yep. ;)
