Glad I found a video of someone sharing how nature recreation helps with neurodivergence. I'm autistic and have PTSD. I always feel more of a sense of belonging outdoors by myself or with animals. I haven't been able to camp or do any day trips in months due to my work schedule and I can feel the impact it's having on my wellbeing. I'm subbing to your channel. I appreciate the time you took to put this video out there.

I feel like I have found my tribe. 🧡 autism, adhd and dyslexia here… there is just something about being outdoors by myself that reconnects me back to myself, even if just for a bit. It’s nice to unmask

Great message mate. I don't make a thing of telling people on my channel but I'm also Autistic. I know it sounds silly but I'm kind of afraid to tell people as people seem to change the way they talk and behave around me once I tell them. Camping and any outdoor activities have always helped me collect my thoughts and keep my mind from being frustrated by the world. I totally get that exhaustion feeling when having to make small talk with people, it's a proper brain exercise and a camp always helps. Most my camps are solos as results. When I'm in a group camp I can't shut up and it's partly because I don't know how to behave in social situations. When it comes to groups etc I'm always on the outside looking in. Always trying to annalise them and understand what they are saying and why and usually come to the wrong conclusion. I've never felt understood by others and never truly understood myself until the diagnosis. Great video mate. 👍

Thanks man appreciate you watching, my social experience is this 1000%! I never know what to say and the extra brainwork i have to do to see how to hold my face, how to react, understand jokes or sarcasm etc all leaves me knackered after a few hours so i just go out by myself! I've struggled with telling people too as its so new to me being diagnosed this year at 36, some people have stopped talking to me, but most have been cool and treated me the same, im applying for jobs atm and not telling them because when i have disclosed on my application none have gotten back to me. Speaking to other autistic men has helped the most like we're doing now!

@@tarpstents811 I work for Cardiff University and they have a policy where they give everyone equal opportunities to apply for jobs regardless of conditions or disabilities etc. I told them openly in my interview that I'm autistic and strangely regretted it as soon as I did (even though Im not ashamed)... but they still offered me the job and then asked if there was anything they could do to help me out with the condition at all. I just said giving me no special treatment and stop calling it a condition would help as I don't see myself as having a condition and calling it that only contributes to the stigma. At least they are trying but even they still don't quite gey it right. They're a great company to work for and I highly recommend taking a look at their jobs. 👌👍👊

I don’t consider myself autistic or with ADHD, but what you said resonates with me. I do find myself over stimulated and overwhelmed with other peoples needs at times with life, so getting away helps me hit the “reset” button. Maybe I should talk to my doc about this. My best days are solo and with my cats.

Exactly what I'm like, i need time to recharge from socialising a lot. You can take tests online to see if you might be autistic, obviously they're not 'proper ones' but it'll give you an idea, if you ask your doctor they should be able to give you a self referral form to pursue a diagnosis if its something you wanted; I only found out i was both this year and got diagnosed about 2 months ago! Thanks for watching and commenting
