Camping Down Under: Rainy Adventures And Delicious Campfire Cooking At Abbotsford Bend! 🌧️🔥

Abbotsford Bend - Winter 2022
This week we managed to get away littlefoot free. Just us and the dogs :)
We headed to Abbotsford Bend, not far from the almost 100-year-old Abbotsford Bridge. It is the only remaining steel truss bridge with a lift span that crosses the Murray and opened in 1928. It really is a beautiful piece of local history :)
The weather looked fantastic as we headed out bush, but the forecast didn't look too promising... :(
We ended up rained out several times, but got some spectacular rainbows :)
We cooked a few easy and delicious meals on the campfire as well. :)
We had Cast Iron Campoven (Dutchoven) Roast Lamb Shoulder with Saltbush and Rosemary, Butter and Saltbush Hasselback Potatoes in foil with vegetables and gravy.
We also had Seasoned Steak on the coals with deep-fried potato chips and a delicious Beef Brisket Rotisserie. :P
(: The Steak is now Mrs. Yowies Favourite!! :)
We also ventured out on a short nature hike with the dogs, taking a look at the gorgeous wildflowers that are in bloom at the moment :)
We even went fishing in the Murray River and had a crack at a bit of bushcraft ;)
It ended up being an excellent weekend camping, regardless of what the weather did :)

Thanks heaps mate 👍 We added some saltbush to the roast leg of lamb and potatoes, as well as the rosemary we brought from home. The saltbush gives it a slight earthy and salty flavour, really delicious!! We also just went and had a look and subscribed to your channel, love your last video with your bushcraft fishing reel 👍🙌, a bit more complicated than our spoon 😉😂😁 Thank again for watching mate 👍

Thanks heaps mate 😀 The Food was delicious and the weekend was fantastic until it rained, But we certainly have to appreciate the rain when we do get it. I think this is the first time I really got a good view of your new truck!! Beautiful drive, I can see areas very similar to places here. The old truss type bridges are a favorite!! Wow the food looks delicious. Going to try the potatoes, never seen it done like that! Good to see you all again!

There was one in Mildura but they took it down to put up this giant monstrosity,an placed the lift bridge part into the marina about 400 meters from its original spot on the river.cheers for watching.

No luck with the fishing mate. 🐟 We were hoping to catch a stinking carp to try a new catch and cook recipe we've got planned. 🎣 And yeah, not much beats a good feed sitting around the campfire out bush. 🔥 Cheers Mate 👍
