❓ Is there enough structural stability?
💡 Established in close cooperation with tent development masters for 40 years, Stego Dome has chosen pole structure and arrangement to achieve the best safety. The optimal pole curvature provides optimized stability while maximizing space. Specifically, the Stego™ Dome Shelter Tent uses domestically produced five-star Duralumin A7001 poles. 19년 간 캠핑을 하시면서 오늘 보다 도 더 악 조건이었던 캠핑이 있었나요? 저는 이제야 캠핑에 재미를 느끼는 중인데 지난 주말 바닷가 부근에서 바람과 비에 조금은 무서운 경험을 했어요. 다른 분들에겐 별것 아니었겠지만!!!!! 어떤 에피소드가 있었는지 갑자기 궁금해 지네요~!!

원래 캠핑은 비나 눈보다 바람이 무섭습니다.. 바람은 계속 불어오는 태풍보다 저렇게 갑자기 몰아치는 협곡의 돌풍이 가장 무섭지요.. 보통 돌풍은 산위에서부터 소리가 나고 몇초뒤 공격을 하는데.. 이날 바람은 시작부터 철수때까지 계속 텐트 후면에서 몰아부쳤어요 후면에 풀팩 및 가이라인까지 든든히 잡고도 모자라 차량과도 묶었지요 후면으로 겨울엔 잘 쓰지 않는 30cm 단조팩을 풀팩하고 가이라인들은 여름에도 잘 쓰지 않는 40cm 팩으로 박아넣고 장팩들이 모자라 전면쪽으로는 20cm 팩을 깊숙히 박아넣었지요.. 카메라를 가지러 간 사이 전면에 불어닥친 돌풍은 정말 강하기도 너무나 강했고 우산도 안씌운채 다리를 벌려 찍는 습관이 있는 제 카메라까지 이동을 할 정도이고 그 순간의 갑작스러움은 정말 너무 신기할정도였습니다 이틀동안 내내 후면에서 불어닥친 바람이지만, 그 순간의 돌풍의 방향은 상상을 초월했어요 그쯤되면 철수를 하는게 맞지만, 더군다나 신제품 광고를 찍는 날이었고 이미 우레탄은 파손된 상태에다가 한국에 하나뿐인 이 텐트를 며칠뒤 팝업스토어에 전시를 해야했던 상황이라서 후퇴를 할수도 없는 난감한 처지였습니다 강한 돌풍으로 아수라장 된 상황을 수습하는데 눈물이 주르르 났어요 카메라를 가지러 가면 다시 돌풍이 오고, 돌아갔다 왔다를 반복하는데 어찌나 괴롭던지 ㅠㅠ 이후 내내 강한 바람과 버텼지만 다행히 텐트는 무사했고 처음 쓰는 텐트여서 몰랐던, 그리고 바람이 위에서 찍어누르는 돌풍인거를 계산해서 가이라인 포인트들을 바꾸고나니 견딜만 해졌습니다 바람이 무서운게 아니라, 텐트가 또 망가질까봐 화목도 못피우고 있다가 어느정도 마음에 안정을 찾아 다 늦게 화목을 피우고 촬영을 했고 잘때는 화목도, 등유난로도, 팬히터도 모두 끄고 침낭에 푹 들어가서 잤지요 밤새 바람이 머리위를 타고 지나가고 가끔 강한 돌풍이 불어올때면 차까지 휘청거릴정도로 끔찍한 밤이었는데 거의 잠을 못들고 일어나 해가 뜨길 기다렸다가 눈을 떴을때의 아침의 광경은 잊을 수가 없었습니다 뒤에서 불어오는 바람때문에 텐트의 위와 앞쪽으로 눈들이 묻어 뿌려지고 실내에서 바라본 지붕쪽의 텐트 색상과 모양들은.. 아름다웠습니다 폴하나 부러지거나 휘지도 않고 원단 어디하나 하중이 몰려 터지지도 않고 크기에 비하면 매우 가볍게 만들어진 이 텐트가 바람에 따라 춤추며 버틴 것이 느껴지는 순간 소름이 돋을 정도였으니까요

Safety is number #1 priority. Always stake down your tent properly, especially when using an indoor heat source. Shovel away snow to get to solid ground. Use chimney tie downs for stability. A tent collapse while sleeping is dangerous!
