whenever I watch your travel stories, I can't help but think to myself "Why would anyone want to live in a house, in a town - when you can spend your days driving around and being a part of the natural world?" Thank you James for sharing your corner of the world with us ! PS - I have taken numerous screen shots from the WildEarth drives over the past year, and one of my favorites - that I have printed out and hung on my wall - is of you holding up a dung beetle on its dung ball.....thanks for always reminding us of the power of the little things (like Myrtle !)

Stumbled upon your video today and it brought back so many good memories.....as we too stayed at camp #7 when we visited Ihaha seven years ago! (And I agree, it was a superior site.) We didn't have the luck you had at the ablution block though; it appeared baboons visited before us and the place was a wreck. But we did have a funny final morning in our camp: I woke up first, and heard my wife snoring and snorting loudly. She has sleep apnea and we travelled with a battery powered cpap unit. I figured the battery must have died or her mask gone askew to produce the loud breathing. But then I heard the loud breathing joined by the sound or ripping grass. Well, the wife doesn't usually eat grass, so I opened my eyes and rolled over..and she was sleeping like a baby with her mask on. So I unzipped the tent, and looked out to see a hippo standing on the grass right next to our truck, having a happy breakfast. A bit of an adrenaline rush, as we scooted to the high side of the tent in case he knocked into the ladder and turned our bed into a ramp. All ended well. Thanks again for your posts!

Another awesome video! So many animals and no rain. The slow mo of the sable was sooo cool. Poor Kirsten. I don't blame you not sitting still. I can handle sitting still with a mantis or a cicada or even a big spider on me but not those pesky nasty flies or mosquitos. Thanks again for taking us along on your adventure James and Kirsten.

Maybe a pair of thong sandals would help with the thorns? 😂😂 Shoo fly shoo! 😬😂 I think the baboon has the hic-ups? Lol The Sable is a beautiful animal....I’ve heard they are quite rare.

What sweet the first song ...... did you have some quarrels underway ? By the way fantastic how you synch the music from Straus with movements . Kristin has to put less sexy shirt .. the little flying creepers are attracted to her legs and arms ...... quite amusing ...and sometimes irritating for the cameraman ... .. nice play for theater . You gave me a laugh and smile ... today . Shared it.

I enjoyed this episode and it`s nice how your adventure is not just about the BIG animals(the ones most people want to see) but some of the more unusual or smaller ones. Wanted also to ask Kirsten about the binoculars she used in episode 3, using them with her glasses. I am wanting to get a good pair for an eyeglasses wearer but would hope they wouldn`t be too heavy. With distancing and some lockdown, haven`t gotten to go out to “try” binos that I could use with glasses - they really work???
@JamesHendry3 жыл бұрын
The binos we use are really good, works perfectly with glasses too - en.leica-camera.com/SPORT-OPTICS/Experience-Nature/Binoculars/Leica-Ultravid-HD-Plus. Hope this helps!
