So agree with the parking situation. That's my pet peeve as well. Same goes for public restrooms. You go into an empty 6 stall bathroom and someone comes in and goes in the one right next to you:) Love what you do for us!

Back in 1974 I left Wailuku hitchhiking to Hana. It took me two days to get there because there was NO traffic! During that time I saw one fuel truck and one car, which luckily stopped to give me a ride. Yeah, it was different back then!

It's a jeep thing. They park next to each other all the time, doesn't matter how open the parking lot is. They also wave to each other but in Maui most are rentals so if they park next to you or wave they are most likely a local or know the jeep things. Love the video, Maui is my favorite and rth never gets old.

That hike was one of the highlights and one of the hardest things I've every done in my life due to severe arthritis. I love, love, loved the bamboo forest. We did the trip in one day, and my family patiently waited for me to come on the hike-that's a lot of love. Needless to say it was very late. It was well worth the 9 months of work leading up to it. So glad you enjoyed and shared with other people who might not have the chance.

I have camped at the 7 pools camp site about 10 or 11 times back in the 1st half of the 1990's. That $30 park entrance fee did not exist when I lived there & you could camp there 3 days for free. Over the times I was blessed enough to camp there, I have jumped off that bridge over the 7 pools at least 50 times, then jumped from the next spot & so on. It was really popular to do that back in the 90 's. There wasn't those tents attached to cars back then. Those are so cool. You have just helped me with my bucket list when I (Lord-willing), go back to Maui someday. That headstart you got on the tourist crowd at Wainapanapa was so awesome!! I would have liked to have been there when that guy pulled up next to you. I would get out of my vehicle and start a long, meaningless conversation with him. I would say things like "Isn't it nice to get away from it all, where nobody's around?" LOLOL 😄 LOLOL

Just some FYI. Jeepers tend to park/hang out together and 4Runner folks do the same. Now, what I find interesting is that Jeepers acknowledge other Jeepers, Wrangler. I have a 4Runner and I’ve followed and been followed other 4Runners on the Highway. Very similar to Motorcylist.

I'm with you on the parking lot thing in most situations. When I come out to my car and someone parks right next to me and it's all open I get annoyed but sometimes if I notice the car is pretty nice I don't. When I had my Wrangler it didn't bother me if another Wrangler parked next to me I didn't mind because then I know that each of us have at least one side that won't get door dings.
@orlandogreengirl30533 жыл бұрын
So 2 things. So if you are driving a jeep other jeeps are going to park by you "Its a Jeep thing" also most all Jeeps wave at each other. #2 You said in previous video that you want to swim with sting rays go to Grand Cayman Island. They take you out to waiat high water and the Sting rays come to you. Yes I drive a jeep.

Yes it happened to us many times in an empty parking lot with so many empty places and they could not find any other places but next to us , yes it can drive me crazy . But anyway , great scenery on the road to Hana also cool background music . This was the reason they when you guys asked us where we want you to go visit we suggested Hawai .
@allanchu90983 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, Fin, about how people just want to park next to you; no matter where your at. It bugs me as well, when you like to stay away from other cars that could potentially dent your car.

Sunrise @Haleakala, truly spiritual. I sure hope you Guys drove around the backside and not go back they way you came. Did you stop @ Red Sand Beach? Gypsy is a good app, Shaka is just as good and little more humorous. So fun watching your video. The roof top tent looked so fun! - we just did the road to Hana last week. The blow hole at black sands beach was just past the 2 fenced off caves where you stopped. 50 steps more toward the water at the next railing. Bummer you missed it this time. We didn't make it to the Garden of Eden the Ke'anae Arboretum. Hope to do that next time! Loving your videos, keep them coming.

Oh yeah!!...that's what I'm talkin about. I recognize every little step on your journey. Was the road past the pools closed to thru traffic? That's a great way to avoid traveling back the way you came, but it's hit and miss whether you can get all the way around that direction. When open, it's awesome to go around into up-country Maui. You used to be able to get right underneath the big falls. I guess people may have been injured from falling rocks. SO funny about the people who will pull in right next to you.haha...really? They have the whole lot and want to be by your side. Well, as always, very fun to live vicariously thru you to my fav island. Another fav island, that you guys should consider, is Anguilla. Most incredible beach ever in Shoal Bay. Millie's Inn is the place to stay there. You guys would totally love Anguilla. Get in touch from my website, and I can tell you more. Here's my music and drone footage from our last trip there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joLKp6uYgsqGbaM

WHY??? Why are you parking right next to me when there is an entire lot???? Girl! Same! hahahaha....We love Maui! The first time we went we did the Gypsy tour of Rd to Hana and it was almost like having a local friend in the back seat! Highly recommend. Also it surprises me how many people do not take enough time to get to the "end" of the road and run out of time to do the bamboo forrest and the Pipiwai waterfall trail. Totally understand Finny's grief with people parking right next to you when there's plenty of other spots, for me they usually sit there with their engines running. I was sitting on the beach one time by myself, no one near me for 50 meters and 2 women came and sat 10ft away from me talking on their phones, they didn't stay for long after I pointed out this fact with a few strong words thrown in.
