I absolutely love camping. My dad used to take our family at the end of every year. It's where I learnt to love nature and being outdoors. I'm eternally grateful for it and it's helped shape so much of who I am today. It's so strange, whenever I see environments like this it takes me back to the days of being that kid, exploring and adventuring. Thanks for sharing this with us :) Godspeed, fellow human.

Enjoying this wonderful experience. We just got back from a camping weekend and I want more. It's been raining all day and now into the dark of the evening. I've enjoyed the open windows and hearing the sound of my rain and yours at the same time. You and Bruce make me feel like we are still out there, enjoying the rain and the outdoors. Now we are getting to the part about your dad and I absolutely feel you. My dad came to live with me and my husband, four years ago. Diagnosed with Alzheimers. I have no siblings and cared for him all alone during Covid. I know very well the additional hardship of end of life issues and saying goodbye to a parent in the age of Covid. After four years, my Dad declined to the point that he had to be admitted into nursing care and me not allowed to see him due to Covid. Walking away and knowing that it might be the last time you see someone you love. That was the hardest most hurtful day of my life. I'm sorry that you have felt it too. I don't know about you, but, just like the sudden death of my young best friend in 2001, I am once again reminded of the importance of getting out and enjoying life right now. My father and yours would want us to live now. Peace.

I choked up when you shared the story of your father. I lost my father in 2017 and I’m in Los Angeles and he was on the east coast of the states. I was riding my motorcycle across country to see him one last time but I made it half way. (Texas) when I got a call he passed. I too wasn’t there. I’m sure your father and my father understood. Our fathers did so much for us, sacrificed so much, risked everything for us, hid their fears and insecurities from us...maybe it’s an immigrant story. My father was my hero for having the strength and courage to immigrate with a wife and two kids to a new country with no more than a few suitcases and little money. ❤️ PS I also choked up over that shite tarp, lol

Watching people do those camping trip reminds me on when I was Younger in the boys scout. One of my best memory comes from sleeping in the forest with a tent made of pine tree branches one night there was a really heavy thunderstorm and we were about 12h walk from the main camp so we TRIED building something that would protect us from the rain. We did make something that was liveable ( for 5x 10-11 years old ) but what kept us awake was the never ending noise made by the storm. I don't know why this memory is as clear as it is in my mind. I miss those kind of camping trips

I have always wondered why the other bush craft people never use that setup. With a tarp right above your tent you'll always have a pretty dry tent to put back in the casing; extra important if you do many nights camping. Also you have like a patio around the tent where you can raise and take down your tent, get your fishing gear ready, cook and so on, out of possible rain. Brilliant!

Good to talk about it, part of your healing process. Lost my mum, she was in the UK in a palliative care unit by herself. I was stuck in Bali waiting for a visa to be stamped in my passport to allow me back into Bali where I live with my family (all from the UK originally). She passed away in September, immigration issued the visa a day after she died, then I travelled back to the UK alone to sort out all the paperwork (only child, no one left now). Difficult times, glad to see you happy with Bruce and sounds like you have a lovely family. All the best x

Bruce is a right character, he loves it out there as much as you. Great Vlog very relaxing. As for the tarp my friend had this brand and did almost the same, when he told me the price I spat out my coffee. I used an Asda (walmart)ground sheet for £3 $4 NZ$5.8 as a tarp yeah it's heavier, the ring holes leaked and i had to make my own lines but it held up just as good. The more I learn about this product the less I'm convinced.
