During the first year of the pandemic's lockdown, I put up my tent in my apartment's living room. I live in a camper on my parent's property which often has coyotes hanging around it at night so I understand the fear, they sound beautiful though. Bad side, skunks hang around too lol You have a gorgeous backyard!! Love your hat too! Great lake lol

Bought a tent about 10 years ago. It is still in the box, sealed. I keep it preciously for the day that I will feel the call of the nature! I also always sleep with ear plugs. I am light sleeper and I sleep just under Godzilla. My neighbors on the second floor are quite large and each of their steps is making their floor crack so I can't sleep without ear plugs. What a giant outdoor tub you have!

LOVED this video. I am a big fan of Mommy Oh. The moisture on the inside tent poles was condensation from your breath. We exhale a lot of moisture, and it is warmer inside the tent than the outside air, so it condenses. In frozen climates they will get ice inside their tents from condensation. I lived by myself in the middle of five acres in the woods. I had deer, coyotes, raccoons, dogs, snakes, possums, and the occasional wandering farmer’s steer. The animals that would normally be in your area are aware of your presence and stay away because of that. Eventually they would get used to you if you started living out there, like they did me over the course of years. Then they come around, but they come in peace. Wild animals are actually safe.

I learned from campers, the footprint=tarp under the tent is to protect the floor of the tent. The footprint needs to be smaller than floor of the tent, to prevent rain from catching and pooling under the tent. The shelf inside the tent is for your headlights. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you found a way to bring the camping cheer! And as someone who has walked through people's backyards in King and Snohomish Counties with a machete when I was a habitat restoration tech, there are some folks that will be doing that now for work along streams, especially with it being salmon spawning season. (We're at the end of knotweed mapping/control season and the beginning of salmon counts and fall plantings.) But they'd have on neon orange vests (and likely chest waders) and try to be reaaaaaally obvious about what they're up to.
