Camping in the Florida Keys and Key West | Destroyer Key

There's never a bad time to go camping, right? Come with us as my friend Dylan and I make the last minute decision to go camping! We are headed to a tiny island just a couple miles west of Key West, Florida. We later find out the small island we picked to stay on is already crowed with visitors, not the human type though... Hermit crabs! The small island was home to thousands of hermit crabs, so we did them a favor and removed all of the trash from the island before we left to go fishing. Been looking for a spot just like this to camp at in the keys. Would you mind sharing the location? I completely understand if not. Also did you have to register or get a permit or anything?

MAN!! I'd love to find spots like this where we can stealth camp. I've been looking on google and not really found anything. Any tips on where spots are like this? Specifically, stealth camping where we don't have to register or fight with RV folks...

What kind of skiffs are you guys running? Size and hp on the outboards also. I converted a 14ft vhull jon to a flats skiff 20hp tohatsu efi gets me about 27mph

@@LandonSeaAdventures Looks like it handles chop better than a carolina skiff. How would u compare to a cs vs ur buddys glass vhull? Any preferences?

She eats the chop! its also got a small spray rail that catches most of it, the vhull gets pretty wet and doesn't do as well in the chop. My boat is nearly twice the weight of the vhull. I would take my skiff over any boat that is under 15'!

@@LandonSeaAdventures Im surprised the vhull rides worse. Mine is opposite and figured a heavier glass v would be more stable than a jon v.
