Very beautiful landscapes. I had imagined Africa very differently. I spent the whole evening watching your film. Greetings from Germany :)

@@jimnothy_and_friends Let's see..there are still 10 years until my retirement, so that's doable. I have a Suzuki Jimny FJ kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6WomHlrerGFrbc It has cavity sealing (rust protection), snorkel, axis ventilation up to the engine compartment area, Rhino Rack luggage rack with Gordiegear roof tent, large ARB cool box, that's all prepared. I love my Jimny in bison brown color :) My Norway trip with old VW T4 Westfalia 2,5 tdi... : kzbin.info/www/bejne/iovcXnl9jcmmqpo

Tsendze is such a nice camp. You had excelent sitings. Good camara and editing work. Traveling with the jimny is so much fun. Time to consider a Small trailer with the RTT on it :-P.

Thanks so much! We appreciate it. We have been looking, especially for our Kruger trips. We just need to make sure it doesn't start costing us too much in petrol 😭

Love those trailers! Maybe a good option one day!
@barendbekker49012 жыл бұрын
@@jimnothy_and_friends Your fuel consumption will be slightly better with a trailer than with the rtt (if you choose the right sized trailer.). you will have more flexibility, especially with not having to pack up everytime you want to use your car for a game drive. another bonus is that you move everything from the jimny to the trailer. keep a small fridge in Jimny and bigger fridge in trailer...

Kruger is my favourite place too!! Still want to camp st Tsendze one day... but have stayed at both Sable and Shipandani hides - and the experience is awesome!! I stayed in Sable a few years ago on my own(scary but worth it!! 😁) and in Shipandani with a friend this August. Loved it!! For cosiness and variety I would recommend Shipandani over Sable...

Tsendze is magical. Genets and mongoose are not part of the same family. Genets are part of the Viverridae family whereas mongoose are part of the Herpestoidea family.
@jimnothy_and_friends2 жыл бұрын
Such a magical place! We believe the family he was referring to was Viverroidea, a clade within feliformia containing both the family Viverridae, and the superfamily Herpestoidea.

Excellent. I am amazed how stable your video is of the road shots when driving. Quality is very good. What camera are you using? Thanks for the bird ID's!
@jimnothy_and_friends2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! We just a use cheap gopro window mount for the driving shots, and for our SLR we use a combination of a Tripod and a bean bag. We have a Gopro hero 7 white and Nikon D3400. We then use a stabilisation in Adobe Premiere to take out the little bumps.

Do you guys have a dual battery system? If yes car to share the details and where you keep the battery?
@jimnothy_and_friends2 жыл бұрын
Yes we do! We have simple DC to DC battery setup, which charges from the engine when car is running. We charge everything 12v, phone camera etc and also run the fridge from the second battery. We run an external flood LED light for night time camp setup too. We keep the battery behind the drivers seat, next to the fridge box for easy access to the USB ports and the power button. We don't run a solar setup, but the battery charges really quickly and will almost be full after about 10 minutes on idle.

Where did that Other tent come from? Are you traveling with a video crew in a bus???
@jimnothy_and_friends4 күн бұрын
🤣 No it's just us. We sometimes like to put the ground tent up so we can store stuff at the campsite when we are out on Game drives so that we aren't driving around with a fully loaded car unnecessarily. It's also nice to have somewhere to hang out if the weather is bad. :)
