CAMPING NEAR ABANDONED GOLD MINES

We spent the weekend camping and four wheel driving in one of the many areas on the South Coast that are littered with historic abandoned gold mines and mining relics. We were lucky enough to get in to a remote campsite on Friday night and collect plenty of wood to keep us warm. Saturday we spent exploring and made three exciting finds! Sunday we poked down some scratchy tracks in the Colorado in search of some new campsites.

Lavender spray works pretty well to keep the leeches off too. It's also a good anti-inflammatory and antibacterial in case the little buggers bite you

It is still alive even with a primer bulb blow out 😆 Replaced the primer bulb with an eBay spec, hopefully its good to go again

A lot of those mines have sticks and leaves just covering the hole an when u stand on them they clamps; in America they are sealing them up with expanding foam ; there’s heaps along the Turon

Yeah can be bloody dangerous. Plenty that are deep. Can't imagine working them back in the day. Didn't know they were up along the Turon.
