Camping Sweetwater Summit Campground in Bonita. Near San Diego, CA

Camping right in town at Sweetwater Summit Campground
Located in Bonita, CA. Very close to San Diego.
The campground is managed by San Diego County Parks and Recreation.

This campground has 2 loops, North and South.
The North loop has full hookups with concrete pads. Most, if not all of them, are pull throughs. There are very few shade trees in this loop.
The South loop has both partial hookups (water/electricity) and I think (not certain) non-hookups as well. Many sites have shade trees, although the sites appear to be closer together than the North loop. Also, most of them appear to be back-in site on gravel.
Adjacent to the campground is the Sweetwater Reservoir. Water level is very low, but there are still some anglers on the shoreline during the weekend. There are also hiking and mountain biking trails to goes around the neighborhood. The trail also leads you down to the golf course across from the highway.
For the amenities and proximity to the city, this campground makes for a quick short weekend getaway.

Thanks for the video. Do you know if the hookups on the sites have regular electrical plugs for like a hairdryer. Or is it just for plugging in an rv?

Yes, normally sites with electric hookup have regular 110v 3 prong outlets as well. Obviously I didn't check all. Best is to call to confirm your specific site also have it.
