I think this channel is better than a lot of other bushcraft channels because its more real. Things go wrong, sometimes you get drenched, and sometimes your tarp blows away in the night. Instead of buscrafter telling you how you're doing it wrong or have bad kit, its just fun mistakes and enjoying your time in the woods.
@mx-0163
@mx-0163 Жыл бұрын
@bechris9959 I mean yeah. It's KZbin. I don't think anyone is expecting to watch bushcraft documentaries here. Anyone who has ever done bushcraft should know that things go wrong constantly. This is more real because some of the things that go wrong are shown unlike other channels. That's not really difficult to understand I thought.

@@WildBeare : Glad to see your physio seems to be working. Have you ever considered a wild camp on a beach? Or are there none close enough to you that are suitably isolated? Or even a camping trip from an inflatable kayak, or paddle board. Camping on an island in the river. It might make for interesting photographs of tree branches overhanging the water and the tree roots in the water. You might have to share the island with geese or ducks but that would add interest imo. Best wishes to you, I always enjoy your shenanigans.

@@WildBeare : I holidayed in Rhodes a few years back. The air was hot and sultry, with the promise of a storm. As I was sitting under a beautiful tree at a restaurant, a bolt of lightning hit the ground about 100 feet from me. The bang was tremendous and I could feel the reverberation it caused as a shock wave. The staff immediately hustled everyone inside until the storm was over. When I returned a few months later, the cafe had pruned many of the branches of the tree I had sat under, totally disfiguring it. I loved that tree. Lol

Your perpetual sense of adventure and willingness to try anything is just delightful. I do love a good storm. I've quaffed a pint in my hammock during one, but I've also been trapped on a mountain ridge in one, also in my hammock, but utterly humbled and terrified as my eyes were blinded my lighting bolts and thunder rattled my very soul. I carry a lightning tracker that I can turn on at the first rumble of thunder so that I can make sound decisions as a storm approaches me. As always, I enjoyed this!

best advice i can give for waterproofing ; thick contractor garbage/bin bags. Cut them along one side to open them up for larger surface area, and put them either under, or over your tarp/shelter. They are very cheap, but extremely effective. Best advice for warmth, as a canadian, Wool. Even when its soaking wet, it will keep you toasty warm. Anyways, I love you videos very much, the relaxing vibes, and the general happiness you feel when enjoying the outdoors is very therapudic, thanks so much for sharing it all with us!!

what a legend.. solo camping and being mentally happy with this is pure peace! Imagen this women writting a book about her mental health and how much you would get from it. We are all in an age of mental health crisis! If we all just camped on our own for a few days a year with out technology it would be such a better world with out sleeping tablets and medication. We all need that switch off and to reconnect with out ancestry roots! Being human in an AI world is harder than we think! Love this, keep going. Hopefully my business journey will allow me to do something similar soon!

I once was camping in a thunder storm in the forests of Germany. With the lighting crashing and the thunder rolling, I sat in my tent dialing through the various radio stations on my short wave radio (this was before smart phones). I landed on a a station playing the 1812 overture, cannon volleys and all. It fit perfectly to the heavenly cannonande reverberating through the canopies.

You're vid's are so fun to watch, Claire. Thanks for them. If you want to waterproof a piece of equipment, mix one part of good quality silicone, with about 20 parts paint thinner. I forget what Englander's call it. Make sure the item you want to waterproof is clean and dry. Hang it such that no part of the item overlaps, you can make two applications within a day or three of each other. Mix the silicone and paint thinner well, very well, and keep mixing it as you apply it. Use a wide brush to apply it. Don't do this work indoors! Wear old clothes, rubber gloves, and face protection if you can get it. Be smart applying it. Let the item hang in good ventilation for three or four days. Hang it in the sun to accelerate drying. Hope this helps.

Thank you it was so beautiful, something I've always wanted to experience 😍 the ankles not too bad, the instability in it is the main issue, hoping to strengthen it up over winter so that I can be ready for longer distances in the spring. Hope you're having a lovely week :) 🌿🐻

Glad to see you out and about and the ankle on the mend! Fishing brollies have gone down hill since I bought mine it seems. While I wouldn't hike with mine, it makes a great bit of kit in my canoe. As instant shelter for breaks and make shift sail too. Mine was bought when I was a school boy, which probably makes it twice as old as you and it still gets used. Brilliant things. Thanks for for sharing your adventures. Al
