The pictures, the landscape, the friendship wow! you know how to catch the nature and the moments, very good videos you have, please keep going!! And yes, that old Land Cruiser is beautiful. Cheers from Chile.
I gotta ask, what was that drink you were enjoying at the end of the night? It looked like pickled potato and seltzer? Loving the videos by the way!

Welche Camping Betten sind das? Wahnsinnig tolle Aufnahmen. Vielen Dank
Your videos are seriously therapeutic. I'm going for my first camping trip end of May. Would love to know your thoughts on the essential things you would recommend for beginner campers to take with them.

a tent you know how to set up, a thick/comfortable sleeping pad, adequate blankets for warmth, a non-inflatable pillow. you can use a cooler as a seat. paper towels that are useful in general but also make great firestarter. a trash bag. you can cook over the fire, but it requires additional equipment like a grill/rack, & a camp stove is more versatile for actual cooking; but you can use aluminum foil & wrap corn, potatoes, or various meat & veggies to put in the coals to cook. long tongs to move food or wood. leather gloves for protection from heat/splinters. comfortable warm (or cool) clothing. comfortable camp shoes. water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, & washing. headlamp! plate/bowl/pot/utensils depending on what you plan on eating. depending on your budget, you can get finely made items that enhance the experience but those are the basics of what you *need*. you'll find that everyone camps differently & you'll notice "oh i didn't need to bring this." or "oh, i wish i had xyz." but that just comes from repeated outings. i used to work at a boutique outdoor retailer & got a lot of discounts & built up a multi thousand dollar camping set up (i like car camping as opposed to backpacking, which is a whole other ballgame); but i use: - 4 person Marmot tent, even if i'm just going with my dog. the space is nice. - thermarest luxurymap sleeping pad -thermarest compressible pillow cinch -blankets from my bed at home (or a 15 degree down sleeping bag from western mountaineering, but i rarely winter camp). -patagonia down jacket -icebreaker wool pullover -merino tights under gramicci shorts -uggs -xtratuff ankle boots --- -snow peak folding fireplace -gransfors bruks scandinavian forest axe -leatherman wave -snow peak titanium plate, bowl, spork, & double walled mug -igloo marine cooler -aeropress -porlex grinder (& coffee beans already in the top so i don't have to carry them separately) -zippo -3-5 bundles of wood from outside the grocery or gas station -paper towel roll -nemo foot operated shower that i have filtered water in -home depot 5 gallon bucket to carry a lot of the tools, that doubles as a seat or collecting tinder, water to douse fire -coleman lantern -coleman double burner stove -cast iron frying pan -msr pocket rocket with fuel canister -strong bbq tongs -leather gloves - petzl headlamp (i have a surefire handheld flashlight i used to bring but the headlamp is just so much more utilitarian) -large plastic trashbag -nalgene bottle -12 guage shotgun (never had to use it, thank god, but i've camped in some sketchy spots with drunk rednecks & bears/large wild cats - it's just for emergencies.) -cutting board & spices/sauces. (a lot of people like bringing "camp meals" that you just add boiling water to, but i like just making like hot dogs on the open fire (i don't drink anymore, but used to have a flask of whiskey & a 6 pack of favorite beer) & then cook something like potatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, cheese, ground beef, & tortillas on the coleman stove while using the msr stove to boil water for morning coffee). -dog food/bowl for the pooch. -water resistant blanket for laying down for whatever i don't want on the ground or for stargazing. -snow peak torch that uses the same fuel as the msr stove for a fast roaring fire. in addition to the handheld flashlight i don't use, i often leave the coleman lantern at home; i have a tarp for wet weather i rarely use, a hammock i never really used, rubbermaid container for tools that i replaced with the home depot bucket, sandwich press & metal prongs that i just use a stick for these days instead. camp chairs i never used. i use the back of my axe to hammer the stakes of my tent instead of bringing a hammer. i just use my phone for photos - i used to take videos & better photos with a real camera, but i'm not an influencer & just enjoy being out in nature these days. you can bring hiking boots & poles if you plan on hiking in the morning but my hiking trips don't often correspond with my camping trips. but refer to my first list for "necessities." don't skimp on the basics - make the initial investments on shelter/cooking/lighting/cutting/clothing & then just use a lot of what you have from home until you start getting more specific individual items. have a great time!

@@dogwalk3 thank you so so much for that detailed list!!! This is really helpful. The main items I'm looking at right now are camping tents, lighting, inflatable/foldable mattress to sleep on, and things to prep and cook my meals with. I will make a list of all the essentials (I've noted your list) and will take it from there. This is exciting and nerve-wrecking all at once!
