There is both a beautiful and sad reality about your films. We see the beauty and tranquility of a place and there is always a harsh reminder of the fragility of a place or a species. We can only hope to inspire our children to respect the world around us. Take what we need and leave some for tomorrow.

What beautiful shots at Kubu, Andrew. Those last frames of you in the dark of evening, with the fire chuckling away in the background - man, it feeds my soul. Totally agree Harold. I was in Tiboorbuura about 10 years ago and came in from the White Cliffs area. There had been quite a deal of rain in the previous 2 weeks but the roads had dried out. We came tothe clay pan just west of Tib there were no road closed signs so away we went. We got through but the car and trailer looked like one of the elephant poos in Andrews video. Beautiful country.

Hi Andrew, I traveled through parts of Namibia last year and most of the overlander vehicles were fitted with Gautang registration plates and was occupied by foreigners. Did you actually check that this was not the case when you came across these two vehicles in Botswana?

Another amazing, entertaining and informative video, many thanks Andrew. Saddening though to see all those tyre tracks adjacent to the island, and you can tell from their pattern they've been made by idiots "gunning" it around in loops. I can't imagine how long it will take for those scars to disappear.

Fortunately these disappear as soon as the first rains fall. It isn't like the gravel plains of Namibia, where tracks from the 1930s are still visible.

Hi Andrew this comment might be of the topic. But you and Ronny are getting along well so maybe you must invite Ronny to Namibia or the Khalghari. I would like to meat the two of you here in south Africa.
@4xoverland6 жыл бұрын
People travel for different reasons, and everyone on my shoot of mine has to understand, its my shoot. This is my job. And it has to take priority. So I won't lead an expedition with other expedition leaders, especially if they too are shooting and working. I would not go on one of Ronny's trips, for exactly the same reason. He would not have the freedom he needed to do what he wants, if I told him what I wanted. Better we do this separately except for the occasional local collab.

Andrew, please help me understand why you can’t drive on the island? Is it sacred African land or something?
@4xoverland6 жыл бұрын
Yes! Its the reason why driving on the beach, any beach, is banned in South Africa. Its the reason why so many places are close to 4-wheelers. Because people just don't care. They drive and make tracks in highly sensitive desert landscapes that will never heal from car tracks. And its common knowledge in Africa not do just drive anywhere. THis is truly shameful behaviour. If this person had been caught, he could be blacklisted from visiting any Botswana National Parks.
