This was INCREDIBLE to watch!! I’m so jealous and happy for you at the same time. I’d never be able to ride for that length of time. I’ve not been on a horse for so many years. The number one thing on my bucket list before I die is to ride a horse on the beach. I’ve not owned my own horse since 2004. I miss just spending time with them. 💛🧡

Shae, this camping trip is amazing and exciting. Kyle was there and was able to go fly fishing!! Wow. Amazing as a lifestyle. Watching day three now. Exciting you all had a guest from Scotland (my mom's heritage and background) and from France. Lol, I would have wanted to converse with them some. All so interesting and seeing terrain and antelope!

That Border Collie is living its best life
@Clara-ph7my2 жыл бұрын
This is the life. When you bond with your horse. Out trekking/trail riding, you don't know where you are. You rely on not only your lead but put faith in your horse, for discipline and careful footing. This looks so much fun. Even someone like yourself with your own farm and riding school. You still allow for time to get out there, adapt and experience other places.

OMG! Thank you for the memories. My Mom, sister, and I rounded up cattle in MT for my 35th bday! 20 yrs ago. We were all single at the time so they were thinking singles cruise. Let me think about it. We did a city slickers trip. Was thinking about a place near Glacier National Park similar to what you guys just did, but Mom had to be back in a room/bed/tub each night, plus they were sold out for 2 years. Shout out to Careless Creek Ranch in Shawmut, MT! We were their last group. We picked up another rancher, his horse, and his dog on the way, along with 13 other ranchers, to get the cattle off the govt lands before winter. Saw a herd of elk that am. Oh, and they had 7 herds of sheep with a Great Pyrenees dog guarding each herd. Trip of a lifetime and we still talk about it to this day. Mom is not an animal person and is afraid of horses. They put her on Dan, the tallest horse, but the most sure footed. I got to vaccinate the cattle too. We got back from the trip and they told Mom she had a life threatening heart condition. She chuckled and said, guess it was a good thing we went on vacation, huh? Thank God she's still with us. Mitral valve repair and 1 CABG - 90% blockage. Thank you again horse lover!

I rode in Wyoming via Girl Scout National Center West----(in Ten Sleep---- closes big town Worland) - on a 2 week Pack Trip in the Bighorn Mountains in 1980. I was 17. Rode "Mohawk." Then I participated in Wyoming's 100 (Cenennial)----- we started in Northern Wyoming trailering- riding as fast as we could go- camping with the horses- and carrying the mail in mochilas (Mail bags) to Cheyenne Frontier Days. We rode into the arena in Cheyenne and delivered the mail. Wyoming and Montana are like my 2nd home.

OMG, you're near my old stompin' grounds. I played for 10 years in the Cheyenne Symphony. The sun at that altitude has less atmosphere to filter through and more UV gets through. I am quite fair skinned also and I can't count the times the top of my head, and the rest of me for that matter, was sun-burned. And it happens so fast. I used to joke that we were closer to the sun. My time in the mountains was usually spent flyfishing. I looked up the ranch and realize now it is quite a bit north of Cheyenne and Laramie. Still familiar landscapes. They change very quickly. The antelope are still fascinating to me.

I have a question, what are you to expect when the leader goes so slow your horse keeps bumping the rear of the horse in front and you keep having to slow it down? Is that normal? Hi Shea. This vacation reminds me of one a friend and I took in 2005. We went to a "Dude Ranch" on Colorado, south of Colorado Springs and west of Pueblo. I wanted to do a cattle drive/camp but they didn't offer it in late August (actually ran into Labor Day weekend & same one when Katrina hit N'ORLEANS). We had a very good time and one trail ride took us into the mountains on a very thin trail where my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when my horse stumbled. I'm not a very good horse person so it was really scary when she tripped on the shale. The scenery was much like where you were but we had more trees than pastures.
