I use 1 rounded teaspoon per cup and 1 extra rounded teaspoon for the pot. Makes a good medium brew. I use these type pots as emergency coffee pots, just in case electricity goes out when you can use on top of a barbecue grill or picnic grill or campfire coals. I live in Florida and hurricanes happen occasionally and with them you may be out of power for awhile.
