The "minimum amount of water" test you shared with us is excellent. Edit: I like the tip on loosening the viewing knob. I echo Nunya's comment on the quality of presentation. I solo hike and camp so I will be ordering this. Thank you.

Very good and well tested. Just missed a bit in the middle, that only had volume measures in US measures, not in International measures (Metric), so I had no idea what you were talking about right there.
@CampingGuidance Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Göran! I'm glad that you liked the testing 😊 I think I used to do only US measurements because most of my audience is from the US, but I've made some adjustment to include the metric system as well in my later videos 😊 Appreciate your comment! Hope that you still got the info you needed 😊

I love you reviews, so consistent across the different brands. One question here as this is very comparable to the Coletti. You didn't comment on the spreader and how it sits on the filter basket. Seems the gap on the Coletti may have contributed to grounds in the pot. Is that an issue here? Faber has a spring to push the basket up against the spreader as you call it.
@CampingGuidance5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Lyle! I'm really glad you like the reviews 🥰 I thought the bigger holes of the Coletti was what led to the grounds in the basket haha. The GSI here has smaller holes. I don't typically have a problem with grounds in my coffee, even if there's no spring to push the basket up against the spreader.

Great review. Very good and relevant stats, especially the minimums and maximums. I think for a single person, this should do fine. Although the "cups" scale in the item itself can serve as guides, it is best for each person to estimate about how much coffee one wants to make. In my case, I have an 8oz cup at a time (twice a day), so a pour over method is the most convenient. However, I do appreciate the higher temperature that the percolator can reach and feel (although subjective) that a percolator gives me a stronger bolder flavor. This smaller 3 cup perc should serve me well.

Hey again Roberto! Thank you so much for your comments and I'm really glad that I can provide a little helpful info 🥰 And yeah the bolder flavors are definitely the highlight of this. And the aroma too! Are you planning to go with this one?

I own 6 cup version of this and would have got this too if it also worked for 1cup percolation, which seems like it doesn't. Thanks for the test you did for us.
@CampingGuidance2 жыл бұрын
It was my pleasure Wahre! I’m glad that it was helpful for you. And yeah I actually bought this instead of the 6 cup because I thought the 1 cup would work as well. Sad that it doesn’t. Thank you for your input though! :)

@@CampingGuidance If you'd go hiking with 2 people total. Would the 3 cup be enough?
@CampingGuidance2 жыл бұрын
@ThePupil Thank you for your question! Hmm that depends on how many cups of coffee each person drinks. If it's only 1 cup (5-6 ounces) each, then it should be fine!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you liked the video and I appreciate the sub and comment 🥰 And the top perk knob is plastic sadly, but I remember seeing an option to buy a glass perk knob instead! Direct on the GSI Outdoors website I think.

Isn’t it supposed to be have a small spring beneath the bottom basket and the spout?
@CampingGuidance4 ай бұрын
Hi Pablo! Hmm not all percolators have a spring between the basket and spout. So far I've only seen one (with the Farberware). The rest of mine didn't have that.

how many tbsp of coffee should i put per cup of water?
@CampingGuidance2 жыл бұрын
@Cabo Wabo Thanks for the question! I usually use about 2 level tablespoons, or 1 heaping tablespoon per cup (usually the latter). You can use more or less depending on how strong you like your coffee. Hope this helps! 😊

@@barbarab202 Hey Barbara! Nope this doesn't make 15 oz. of coffee. In my experience I lose quite a lot of water to boiling, and I usually get just one big mug of coffee. I hope this helps!
