You really need to stick a block of wood between the axle and breeze blocks. The breeze blocks could crack with the metal axle resting on them. The wood will absorb the shock and will allow the frame to settle evenly.
@CampOutWest10 ай бұрын
This is good advise which we did not know about so thanks for sharing. I put a little 10mm sliver of oak and some roofing felt between the axle and the blocks to get true level. How much of a piece of wood do you recommend?

that is spot on advice, I have put several of these up over the years and seen where they did not do that and cracked the concrete blocks.

@@CampOutWest if you can get them, get scaffold sole boards. They are about 2 inches thick. And about the size of a breeze block. And pretty much designed for this type of work. They are cheap as well. Less than a fiver each last time I bought them.
@freespiritwithnature438410 ай бұрын
Putting the wood between the axle and b blocks will help prevent cracking,about 2.5 inches.You'll learn as you go,but the most important thing is to NEVER GIVE UP OK.XO

I’ve been binge watching videos I missed and this is the only time I recall seeing the building behind you (1:52). Is that the neighbors? Now things make sense to me seeing that. I thought you were building this house where one of the guest houses will go as shown on your map. I was thinking you were building a guest house first and would live in it temporarily. Lol. I wondered why you weren’t wanting to get out of your caravan first. It really shows that missing one episode can skew the perspective. Love your videos. Great balance between hard work, innovation, new skills, relationships, purpose and, of course, Maggie. I have a Maggie too. ❤

If you need to cut many parts of the same length, measure once, then mount support and stopper at the end of the first timber. Then just push the timber to the stopper, and cut. You will get the same length every time. Templates help to make repetitive tasks faster.

Looking online now at some steel adjustable axle stands with a 7000kg payload each, 4 of them should be a better option and easier to level the axle horizontally. One step forward and two steps back 😂 All i can say is thank you, and thank god for the comments section and all the advise.
