Love your videos. Two comments: 1. Make sure to fill your water before setting up if there's not a water supply at your site. 2. You can lay out your ground mat and use that as a backup guide - especially if you don't have a second person to act as a guide. (Can also back passenger tire onto the edge of the mat to hold it in place in windy areas. )

Very well done! 👏🏻😃 Great tips! Just want to suggest to put your boards that are under the scissor jacks and the tongue jack, the other way around. Then, (God forbid) if the trailer bumps ahead or back, at least the big block under then tongue jack isn’t going to roll forward or back and the bases of the scissor jacks will not fall off the short end of the boards. Thank you and please keep making helpful hints videos like this. They help everyone glean some bit of helpful information and make things easier and safer. 🙂

Great tip about the boards. I hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense. I'll be doing that from now on. Thanks.

Very well organized and explanations are great . We use a cordless drill with socket to lower and raise stabilizing jacks, just a little easier lol
@CampingwiththeColes Жыл бұрын
A lot of people use a drill or impact driver to lower the jacks. I would recommend an impact driver over a drill because it won't twist your wrists. We've done both and just went back to manually lowering them because it's not much bother and it's quiet.
@janicebelliveau5458 Жыл бұрын
We use a cordless drill too. It is easier. 😊

You have to lock things up these days. Campgrounds are prime targets for theft as many people leave all sorts of expensive equipment out. It's a shame, but that's the way it is

Thank you for your channel! We love your helpful videos! Hubby wanted to mention on the leaf blower for your slide. He thought possibly you could use your air compressor with a coiled airline? Would save you space bring the blower? Just a suggestion. Thanks again for all the info! We are starting our camping journey, just retired and want to make memories with the grandchildren. We just bought a 2018 Freedom Express 257BH. I love the setup for the kids bunk beds. 😊Not sure about travelling with this Dining table. 😝 Do you have the same one? What do you do when travelling? Great video! Thank you for sharing. How do you deal with the fridge and driving long distances? I’m used to a three way fridge and our new rv only has a 2 way. Do you keep things in a cooler till you get to a site? I can see driving 2-3 hours posing a problem with the fridge off. Thanks!
@CampingwiththeColes Жыл бұрын
You're fridge is basically a big cooler. We've driven 8 hours with the fridge off and no concerns as long as the fridge was down to the correct temperature to start with. Everything stays frozen in the freezer and the milk and everything in the fridge is still cold.
@willlu158 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the information. I’ll try to do a test this week to see how long it will stay cold. It won’t be truly representative as it will be empty and it’s not hot outside yet but at least we’ll give us a rough idea. The previous fridge we had didn’t stay cold for long after it was turned off.

Do you have any advice on what type of extension cord we should bring to Ontario Parks to ensure at some of the more remote sites we can get power from the electric post to the trailer?
@CampingwiththeColes2 ай бұрын
I'd recommend having at least 75 feet of power cord consisting of a 50 foot cord and a 25 foot cord. That should get you enough for most campsites. We actually carry 100 feet consisting of a 50 foot and two 25 foot cords and we've had to use it all a couple of times. We've never needed more than 100 feet.

I noticed on the gear list there is fishing license and fishing pole/tackle box, however you don't do any fishing in your videos. Is fishing stuff something you normally bring or is it something new for this season?
@CampingwiththeColes Жыл бұрын
Actually that's something that we used to bring. We don't bring that with us anymore. I only bring a fishing pole if camping on Father's Day weekend when the province usually allows fishing without a license.

I had an near catastrophic accident setting up recently. I was raising our car off the hitch-- it was stuck in there so it suddenly dropped 3-4 inches and the round foot pad of the hitch hit the plastic blocks I had put underneath. I had chocked only one side of the trailer. Unfortunately I had used two different kinds of blocks and they separated and the trailer heaved to one side about a foot. Unfortunately this was also on a steep hill so the trailer slid back a couple feet ( on the side that did not have the chocks). Scared the heck out of me. Another RVer came over and help me fix the situation. I have now sprayed some lithium lubricant into the ball and hitch and will never use two types of blocks and will always put chocks on all wheels!
@CampingwiththeColes Жыл бұрын
YIKES that was a close call. Good thing you didn't have any real damage to learn a lesson you'll never forget. We've had plenty of learning events. Some cost a bit and some didn't. We're better for it now.
