Not sure if anyone has tried it yet, but it would be nice to know if the mounts from the TRD spoiler would cover up any drill holes from the RS lip spoiler.

No. While the holes will be under TRD spoiler, the actual feet will not cover them. You could try to Bondo the holes, sand them smooth, then use the 3 part Duplicolor Perfect Match system (base, pearl, and clear) on it. Even it you can't get it perfect, if you can get it good enough, the TRD wing will overshadow your paint job that you shouldn't be able to tell.

Ever have any problems with it going at high speeds? I’m wanting to install a trd wing but don’t wanna drill any holes, just using 3m tape but I’m worried about it flying off on my 22 xse lmao

I've been using taped on spoilers since shortly after I bought this car brand new. I haven't had any issues with them coming loose. The trick is making sure you use good tape and properly clean the surfaces. It's best to install it while it's a little warm out.

I may not be putting out a lot of content on here lately, but I do try to keep up with comments. The spoiler is holding up fine through all the seasons. You just need to make sure you use the tape I have linked in the description, have your surfaces properly cleaned, install it when it's warm (or use a heat gun to pre-warm the trunk), and make sure you have it positioned properly so that it sits flush (which is why I have mine set back with a slight overhang).

Hi i drive tesla model 3, im looking into a no drill needed gt wing, the shop said i can use 3m tape or silicone, im thinking of doing the same thing u did, i was wondering how its holding right now? Since this video was 11 months ago

It's still holding up strong. I had my last spoiler also attached with 3M tape for a few years without any problems.

I had my previous spoiler installed with 3M tape for 5 years. It was pretty much still stuck on there just as well when I went to remove it to install this one.

I'm not sure about a wing that doesn't have a large foot print for taping it to the trunk and that sits higher up in the airflow stream. It might work, but I would honestly think about bolting it down.

It's a thicker copy of the 2020-2022 TRD Camry wing.

For years if done correctly. I had my last one taped on for years and it was difficult to remove without using high tension fishing wire because of how well it held on.

No. If you use the tape I recommend, clean surfaces properly, and apply it as shown, it will be fine. I've used tape for two spoilers since 2017, as well as multiple friends' spoilers, without any trouble.

@smodenaruto that, I can't say. Just make sure it's positioned so the center part and pillars all sit flush on the trunk lid.

Not everyone wants to drill into their trunk and proper 3M mounting tape does a great job keeping this mounted in place on it's own.

@@micahyee1518 just make sure you clean the surfaces properly and everything is sitting flush. I've been using 3M taped spoilers for years without issues.

I'm so torn cause yeah now that you mention it, EVERYONE has the RS style one but it fits the car so well. I currently have the GT Concept one from Duraflex and I love how it looks on my white tC and I've never seen anyone else with one but I've been considering switching to the RS cause it seems like it'll accentuate the boxy style of the car more since it squares off the car more. But then I'd be sacrificing the uniqueness of the GT Concept one 🤔

You could always try finding something completely different and trying that out. Maybe go through ikonmotorsports.com and look at the various wings and spoilers they have and see if you can make one of them work for you.

I was going to do this, but in person it doesn’t look as good, specially from the side, it’s too low so the car, the car’s rear is very thick looking and this spoiler it’s just too elegant it just doesn’t fit the style, I did make money of it tho, I bought it used for $30 on Facebook and sold it for $80 to a Corolla owner, big spoilers look better on this car because of how aggressive and wide looking this car is.

It's definitely not for everyone. I actually like the size and it doesn't interfere with my rear wiper when I lift it up. If I look in my sideview mirrors, the angle of the winglets match the slope of the sides of the car.

Did you use the recommended VHB 3M tape I have linked? I never trust the supplied tape with parts. Also, you need to make sure the surface is properly clean and that the spoiler is positioned so that it's sitting flush with the trunk so that the tape has full contact. I've been driving around for years with taped on spoilers without any problems.

@@VampyreX13 I clean the surface, used a heat gun to warm the surface, then held it firmly until it was in place. The only thing I can think of is it wasn’t completely flush with my trunk, I also used the factory 3m tape.

Not being flush and using normal 3M tape instead of VHB tape would cause it to come off. I have mine set back with a slight overhang so that the tape had full contact with the trunk.
