He said he prefers to use cast iron heads on cast iron blocks, and aluminum on aluminum if you can get a comparable cast iron head say dart iron eagle platinum to its aluminum counterpart. The reason being is the growth rate varies between iron and aluminum so it's better if they can grow the same. I may not have worded it perfectly but hopefully you can understand what I'm talking about, thank you. Do you agree????

Regarding the process that people use to spec out a cam, just a few observations from someone at the enthusiast level. 1) Folks who have the equipment/contacts to design and test that design tend toward the events/hybrid approach. 2) I think Vizard developed the "formula" for people like me to get as close to what I want (not necessarily optimal) as possible without spending more than an off-the-shelf price. 3) People get in arguments about process because that is how they were trained or how things make sense to them the easiest way and get all blustery when challenged. I also have a question or two for the event timing guys. 1) What factors determine the events for you? 2) What is the least amount of info needed to get a good cam event profile?
@jmflournoy386Ай бұрын
great question Get Rick Jones Controlled induction free program or another similar, Vizard has a great checklist Start with head flows from yours or the vendor or from the head flow website and work backward from the valve events through the rocker to the cam you also have to pick your lobe and play with events vs lobe vs application and maintenance etc
