Terrific explanation! I’ve been reading articles and books for months and it’s all remained a mystery- your demonstrations were perfect 👌

I actually understand cams now thanks to these videos. Just watched parts 1 through 5. Its really simple when explained in this way. Good Stuff. I know that there is ALLOT more to understand about cam dynamics, but i didn't even know the basics until now. Thank you.

Finally!!!!! I've been building engines for over 35 years and have time and time again tried to explain camshafts and their relationship to engine performance and power to the people who work for me with little success. Until now, their view on camshafts was "!/4, 1/2, 3/4, and Full Race" Camshafts. What a bunch of boobs! (Actually a great bunch of people!) I am gonna sit them down and make em watch this video series. Several times if need be! Thanks for the fine "Layman" explanations and demonstrations. Absolutely Brilliant!!

This was a brilliant explanation, start to finish! I’m investigating cams as an upgrade to my 04 C5 Corvette. Thanks for your help.

This video series is just the tip of the iceberg with respect to cam profile design (calculated 5th order, 10 boundary conditioned B-Spline curves to generate cam lift profiles that conform to specified open and closed timing events).

More importantly, The lift profile (h), from h=0" to h=h", and its associated velocity profiles & acceleration profiles. The better questing (but more involved question) is: How fast is the cam profile lifting throughout its cam lift "Rise Event"? Just listing lift amount & duration amount alone only indicates the boundary conditions.

just think how much there is going on in the entire motor combined. Too much to comprehend all at the same time lol you have to do it one peace at a time because its too much to think about all at once, lol.
