Camtasia Whiteboard Animation Tutorial - Free Download

Camtasia has a lot of uses but it was really intended to be uses for screen capture videos. At least that's the way I see it.
I wanted to make whiteboard videos so I had to think about it for a bit before it dawned on me that Camtasia can totally do whiteboard so long as you have a few assets.
That's why I created a video clip of my hand scribbling over a green screen and then also recorded the sound of me writing on on a whiteboard. I put both those files on DropBox and included a royalty free licence with them so you can use them for your projects too.

Interesting! Can Camtasia do all the same things as Explaindio.. such as sketch over cartoon characters, etc? It seems like it takes a longer time to do whiteboards with Camtasia than it is with whiteboard softwares like Explaindio or Easy Sketch Pro, etc. However, those whiteboard softwares are annual subscription base so I'm sure not everybody would want to invest in them. I'm glad you show this can be done with Camtasia.

+Phil Ster I know the software you are talking about but it is my opinion that both were made by flash in the pan software creators. Camtasia has a long history as techsmith has been at it for a good amount of time. I'm not worried that camtasia will turn into digital dust at any point soon. It is worth reminding you that Camtasia is basically a screen capture software but it is also useful for other things like sales letter videos and yes even some basic text animation. Another great editor that I use is completely free. Hitfilm 3 express. fave.co/1P7e9WG There is also DaVinci Resolve fave.co/1SyndGq Point is that you can buy a dedicated software that can do one thing or you can buy something that has a lot more to offer or you could get something with tones to offer for free.

Your videos are super Steve. I have Marc's Logocreator and it's really good. In putting text into the call outs with the white background, I'm doing video sales letters, I was thinking of using the captions feature. I can make it work but the captions are always at the bottom of the screen. Do you know how to get the captions centered? I can import my script into the captions thus saving me tons of time yet I can't get the text centered. It is done using a .smi file retaining my formatting of the text. Centering these captions would be awesome. Keep up the great work.

+Martin Hamilton Have you recorded your voice? if you did you can convert it text with captions. Take the text and make a slide presentation on Google Drive with the text (easy you'll see) record the screen with camtasia and play the slide presentation, slide for slide making sure to have a good amount of time for each slide so that you can edit the video (screen capture) to match the voice audio. Make sense?
