@@blacaurax3799I mean windows 10 and above is just painfully slow on this type of hardware like mine but I installed windows 8.1 and you can use 8.1 or below to get amazing performance on this hardware. My laptop is the HP notebook 14-cm0508sa and it has 4gb ram 2gigerhertz processor and a 1080p 60hz display, it’s pretty much the same and it has amazing performance on windows 8.1 or 7 because there is barely any processes

fun fact: 1.17 brought a huge OpenGL update and due to a driver quirk on its OpenGL Windows driver, 2nd gen Intel iGPUs will actually give nonsupported errors on 1.17+ if you decided to go with Windows. Great job for going with Linux, you did actually get the most maintained driver thus 1.17+ runs fine!

Wow I didn't know that! So choosing Linux instead of Windows gives more life (and in most cases more performance as well) to our pcs for Minecraft.

@@berkantari981 Very much so! He did a video with another $1 laptop a while ago and the Windows drivers only worked on Windows 7 with 1.16 or older .. With Linux he managed to not only run 1.20 but he also managed to get the same performance the laptop he used in that other video had (which was significantly more powerful than this one from what i remember)

@@blacaurax3799 Linux only increases performance by like 20% on games, its more focused on os optimisation. Also ubuntu is just as heavy as windows so it doesnt make a difference.

That's an incredible deal for real! I was expecting some Core 2 Duo or even Celeron type sht, but this looks like 1st gen Intel Core! Though the charger mistake is embarrassing for any human with any tech knowledge at all lol Installing Windows is super easy, don't forget drivers of course, I have a bad feeling you did would have... Linux is certainly better if you don't have an SSD though. I don't even wanna begin to imagine what the dust and thermal paste situation is like inside lol

Proving again and again that linux runs on everything! The problem with Windows is probably, that it can't find some driver or it finds it, but it's not for the hardware of the laptop, so for the example the GPU just crashes when it tries to initialize.

my old laptop was worse than this one, and somehow I managed to play over 200 hours of Fallout NV on it when I bought my gaming PC I destroyed it and threw it away The game would go lower than 10 fps in most areas, and around 23-25 on the good parts. To travel I needed to look to the ground, so the fps would go up. My build was fully focused on V.A.T.S., cuz otherwise, I couldn't hit anything It was a nightmare, but it still is one of my favorite games. (The laptop was also HP)

You could add an i7 2720QM and 8gbs ram and that would actually make it a usable laptop. Not saying that you daily drive it tho. Still better than my old pc with a pentium 20th anniversary edition and 7870, it would max out at 40 fps on 1.19.

The reason it performs good is because it uses Linux otherwise we would likely not see this laptop working smoothly in a windows os unless we are talking about windows 8.1 and 7 then it will work alr.
