I went with a 16 GB 4060ti and was super apprehensive because of the bad reviews. Coming from a GTX 1070 it's been awesome. My monitor is only 75hz/1080p and the card barely pushes 100 watts with V-Synch on. I don't regret the purchase one bit.

The biggest complaints about the 4060ti was the memory bus and the price. I bought my 4060ti 16GB for $390 (after a $30 gift card). I think that’s a great value, and it’s a big jump from my 1660ti I had before.

Im a 3060 ti user and i personally think Id rather play it locked at 40 or 45fps at 1440p dlss balanced or performance maybe at a mix of medium and high settings no RTX. I love raytracing but I'd rather be upscaling to a higher resolution than 1080p because dlss works better at higher output res and I feel like the graphics settings matter less when the game looks so good even on low. I'd rather not play at 30 but 40 or 45 is a nice balance if you're okay with a softer image. The consistency of the performance is more important to me than the visuals when its a story based game, it doesnt need to be high or run at high resolutions or graphics settings, i just want to be immersed so either using gsync or locking to a lower framerate than 60 is ideal (maybe even streamed to the steamdeck at 40hz for better frame pacing!)

Yes, I have a 3060 ti, ryzen 5 5600X, 32gb PC and Alan wake 2 set to medium, RT off and DLSS set to Quality can play the game great at 1080p. I originally set the game to high but honestly i could not tell a difference graphically between high and medium settings so i set it to medium lol.

Same here at 1440p DLSS Performance. Game looks amazing, the visuals justify how demanding it is 100%. It looks great even on Low.

Enable pbo for the 5600x if haven't already, I get single core boosts to 4.8 - 4.850ghz and all core stays at 4.7 - 4.740ghz

While i agree we don't need 120+ fps in a game like this, for me 60fps is still the absolute minimum. Id rather just not play it until i upgrade my GPU if its gonna be below that. Thanks to steams refund policy i just try out new games im interested in and if i cant run them well they go on my HLTB backlog and ill get around to them when i upgrade. Already so many games in the backlog i don't need to be playing the latest and "greatest" all the time.

This is the ONLY game I've found where my Radeon 6900XT purchase makes me disappointmed not having RT performance that rivals 3080/3090 as it's "only" on par with a 4060ti in this title with ray tracing. RT is actually extremely good looking here and worth it.

The best configuration is 1440p, the first two texturing options at maximum and the rest at low and medium without RT. You will get 90 to 100fps at +. I'm playing it like this and it looks excellent.

I turn the raytracing off for combat/forest and I turn it on low and reflections otherwise and then use balanced DLSS (1440p, 3060ti)

We're in such a dark age of gaming. Look at the progression from 1982 to 92, then to 2002. Now we've had games that basically look and play the same for more than a decade. A bunch of graphics gimmicks and not much vision or gameplay.

It's a huge shame because of those mesh shaders the game is unplayable on a freaking 1080ti, even though it runs. I wonder if modders can do something about that. A game not being playable on a high end gpu just 3 gens back is weird af.

@@furynotes agreed. There is no real expectation for the future in the present...things change, tech gets better, and features change. Some people will downplay advancements because they don't find value in buying a new card. Hence, PC gaming is dying. I loved my 1060, 2060 super, 3060, and I really love my 4070...but I expect features to change enough to buy a 50X0.

Now I'm playing this game on a 3060ti and while I can afford a newer card why should I? I should keep buying new hardware to compensate for bad optimization? Look at what Nixxes are doing with PC ports and tell me pc gaming is dying. Actually scalable games that look incredible on high end hardware, that's what we should be aiming for. The game pushes so much more geometry than basically anything else, with the exception being UE5 games. But then most of those are running a lot worse than alan wake 2 so... I personally will take actual use of new hardware for literally the first time since it was introduced 5 years ago.

@@Minmataro718 Actually, a 2070! I could not get hold of a 3080 due to scalping and mining. Then I thought that a 4080 might do the trick but could not get one for the first couple of weeks, then decided to wait for the prices to come down, during that wait, I can see that the 40x0 cards are an expensive bust and not fast enough with the latest games. So I will wait and grab a 5080 if and when... I see the entire 40x0 series as a waste of a lot of money. The only viable one is the 4090, and I'm not paying that.

That game is quite demanding, and I just started playing it, first scene as the FBI agent walking around I'm getting around 28-35fps, 55fps in the case room and looking towards the sky alone getting around 65fps. My pc using 11-12GB of Vram and 13GB of system ram on that beginning scene. but the next scene in the town my fps average 50-55 12.5GB vram and 14.5gb system ram 1440p, quality, DLSS, everything high and ultra, DLSS RR on, DL on, path TIL high, transparency high Ryzen 5800x / 32GB ddr4 3600 / M.2 gen4 / evga 3090 FTW3 ultra / Win 10 Pro 22H2
