The ms250 was my first saw I really bought for myself. Those saws have alot of heart. They are workers.

You can cut lumber by hand, too. Once you've done that anything north of the Ryobi Pocket saw is AMAZING! lol It looks like you got yourself some nice, straight boards with a minimum of fuss. What more could a fella hope for, eh? "Get it done" gets it done. Saying, "Oh, that won't work - it's not big enough" is a politician's specilty, not a workin' man's. Looks PERFECT to me, Doug! 💪🏁👍

For me, I honestly think the 40-50 cc mark is the best choice for most people 👍

I practiced making planks from a 5' long log with an electric corded black and decker 14" saw and it worked good took avout 5-10 mins but good practice

First journey through milling for me was with my 445 Husqvarna. Everyone said it couldn't be done and I still have the first ash slab to prove it 😊 Good Luck and happy milling!

Not for long. My biggest saw is 80 cc’s and it struggles on the bigger stuff. 25” oak log, 12 feet long and the Alaskan mill is a tougher job that pulling off the skins for a post.

If you're going to use a saw to rough cut I'd mix my oil a little heavy to protect your saw. I cut some Maple about that size with an 044 and it worked fine. Keep your chain sharp and take your time.

Honestly, I was surprised at how well this thing worked. It’s super cheap and easy to use.

@@IndianaDoug I bought one. Its a bit of a learning curve but for rough cut lumber its a neat little thing. My 391 and a ripping chain dont seem too happy about it though. May get me a cheaper large saw for the milling.

Some deal I found at Menards. You hook it to your bar, and run it on top of a 2x4. Worked pretty good🤣
