i have a bestek 1000w pure sine wave and a 20 amp battery and it ran a 5000 btu Frigidaire AC. I just did that for a test i will never use such a small battery i use a much bigger battery instead and its amazing.

Would be interested in knowing exactly how many watts the fridge pulls on start up and also after initial start up. (using an energy meter) My little freezer only needs 60ish watts to run but initially pulls 550 watts for a few seconds. My Bestek 300W can't handle it, even momentarily before it blows a fuse. I clicked this video in hopes of clarifying whether the 500W would work. Still a mystery. lol

The bestek 500W inverter actually outputs a modified sine wave which is why your fridge does not start.

Compressor would be 750w and the fridge itself 75watt.. wouldn't work on my 600watt inverter

I have that same fridge. The Bestek 1200 watt inverter runs the fridge for 8 days and nights on my 200 amp hour battery in a Min Kota trolling motor plastic case. Buy a bigger inverter than you need. The Bestek has an LCD screen showing Watts and battery voltage. Prices are all over the map but I got mine for $106 with free shipping from an eBay seller.

Funny you say that - I bought a Bestek 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter a couple weeks ago and have been amazed at its capability. Hope to do a video on it at some point. What are the details on your 200ah battery? Is it a Lithium or lead battery? Thank you for your comment!

@@uthe54 I have several lithium battery units that fit in plastic battery boxes They are caseless and have the BMS shrink wrapped to the top so they are as small as can be made. Two of the 100AH batteries fit in a Min Kota box side by side with room to spare. $420 for each 100 amp hour and $820 for the 200 amp hour battery. Not cheap but fits my situation. I home build these as power backup units for friends and neighbors who need to run CPAP machines and oxygen concentrators. Most of them run 300 watt Bestek inverters. I must have a dozen!

@@uthe54 Its a TOBattery 200 amp hour 12 volt LiFeP04 battery with built in BMS. I show the 100 amp hour TOBattery beside it. Two of the 100 amp hour batteries fit inside the trolling motor box and still need Chinese shipping foam to take up excess space. They could be put in series to run a 24 volt trolling motor. This modified Minn Kota box was made to back up a CPAP machine during power outages. The 300 watt Bestek is Velcroed onto the battery box and can be quickly removed to be used in a car. My friend is taking it camping next week and wants to run the smaller 700 watt instapot pressure cooker. We already tried it with the 1200 watt Bestek and cooked stew. That's why I made the jumper cables to run the inverter. The 60 amp breaker inside the trolling motor box makes it safer in many ways. We have been able to recharge the 100 amp hour battery somewhat by using his jumper cables off his van battery with the engine running in a test to see if it's possible. It worked. Depends how many watts the fridge requires.. and how many watts the battery c are put out . If one of those isnt enough it doesn't work

Volts times amps will net wattage. 500 is too small for most mini fridges

True, but a Jackery 500 runs this mini fridge no problem.

Rule of thumb, for every 500watts you need to run use a 100Ah battery, so 1000w= 2x 100amp deep cycle batteries, and so on .and no its not the inverter.

Cables are likely bigger in the jackery which allows for less heat and less resistance

The compressor on a mini fridge is around 750 watt the fridge itself is 75watt..it's the compressor that won't start it on a low watt inverter. Would need a 2000watt.or under
