Wow, great little box. Like the lid. Great technique for removal from a too tight jam chuck. And I really like the feet. They are something most turners don't take the time or effort to do. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

@@MikePeaceWoodturning You may not have been happy with the through hole in the lid, but it sure came in handy for the compressed air! And the final product looks good.

@@alans1816 Yes, I forgot how useful it was for the compressed air. My other approach would have been to leave in the freezer overnight.

@@MikePeaceWoodturning I use the freezer to free up clogged aerosol cans, too. About 50% success rate. Elegant little lidded box, Mike; thanks. Bernard.

Thanks for showing real life turning where things don't always go according to plan. It makes the rest of us feel normal when things don't work out as planned.

Great Box and more learning's for me. I have 3" discs but rarely use them. Normally 2". but will snip the edges and use on the 2" sanding head. Big thanks Mike
@MikePeaceWoodturning
@MikePeaceWoodturning 3 жыл бұрын
The 2" are great for small bowls less than perhaps 6-7 inches. But a 3" disc has 2x the surface of a 2".

Rough start, but you forged ahead and made it all work well. Nice box design. I have mastered bowls, so now it is on to box making (learning/screwing up) time. Thanks for the lesson.

I've watched a ton of your videos, and while like them all, this one is among my favorites. Not only is the box gorgeous, but you explained your process well, touched on a few things you would have done different and why, detailed hollowing the box with tools new to me (same with the feet), and finally left in a few boo boos showing how you worked around them. Bravo! Have a peaceful weekend.

For the inside of the lid you could plug the hole and then hide it with something decorative like a small knob of some sort or a jewel for a surprise. As always, great job and thanks for sharing.

Mike thank you for the continuing education, always very instructional. If you had a limited budget what would you recommend to buy? The large Robert Sorby tool or micro? Guess depends on project size too. What is largest project you can use micro tool? Just watched again your other video demonstrating chatter tool, excellent!
@MikePeaceWoodturning
@MikePeaceWoodturning 3 жыл бұрын
I probably pick up the full size for bowls greater than 7". But the micro does great for smaller and inside boxes so I would invest in the micro.
