A viewer asked about food items available for grilling at the resort so here is some extra info for those who are interested: The two gift shop/stores at Fort Wilderness sell both hot dogs and hamburgers. The hot dogs are Oscar Mayer beef franks and a ten-pack is $10.49. The hamburgers are a frozen premade brand called Buckhead Pride and appear to be what they buy in bulk for their quick service. They ring up as a '40oz 4pack' but the package we bought actually had five 8oz burgers, at a cost of $7.44.(They were decent enough burgers making it a pretty good deal!) They also had a 12 pack of American cheese for $6.99. An 8 pack of buns were $4.49. There are some breakfast meat items for sale too (Johnsonville sausage links for $5.99, 1lb pack of Oscar Mayer bacon for $14.99, and Egg-Land's Best dozen large eggs for $5.49.) They do also have English muffins and loaves of bread too. We brought our own makings for pizza mountain pies (which we made using the grill) but we did see Oscar Mayer turkey or ham deli meat for $8.99 each if you wanted to make those into a mountain pie. As you can see by the prices, you are definitely paying for convenience but it's nice to know those options are readily available at the resort, and still probably cheaper than quick service if you are feeding a whole family. If you are driving, there is a Wal-Mart close by, as well as Publix. And don't forget about grocery delivery too, if that is something that would work for your trip and you want steak or ground hamburger delivered. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for a wonderfully informative video. We've just recently started camping and looking into Fort Wilderness. You sold us on it, we are definitely packing up the camping gear!

Do they sell meat on site if we wanted to grill hamburgers, hotdogs or steaks? Couldn’t find any info on what is sold in the stores around there or prices. Thank you

Nice note that the ice is a charge. I’ve seen ice mentioned before, but not the charge for it.

love ft wilderness. but the rv sites have become just as much as the value/moderate resort prices. i hope to bring my camper again in spring/summer if the prices get reasonable again.
@parentsattheparks2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it definitely can be just as expensive as some of the hotels but we do appreciate how many extra activities there are to do at the campgrounds compared to the resorts. We hope you can make it back to enjoy it again!
@itr08632 ай бұрын
@@parentsattheparks thank you so much for the reply!. It’s so nice going there without having to go to the theme park so you can really commit to all the activities and things to do there.

This is a great video. I will definitely be viewing more. Do you happen to know if there was pin trading at Fort Wilderness?
@parentsattheparks6 ай бұрын
Yes, there are pin trading boards in the lobby and in both gift shops! Thank you so much for asking, we will be sure to include that information in our future resort videos!

How much is the tent campsite per night? Looks so much fun.
@parentsattheparks6 ай бұрын
Our rate was $103 a night in the late spring. The price changes depending on the season and if it's around any major holidays. It can go as low as $72 up to around $150 a night.

Use the mosquito repellent at fort wilderness. The insects thrive there.
@parentsattheparks6 ай бұрын
After the campfire they do give out free mosquito wipes! We didn't have any issues with bugs. But it was an unusually dry spring so maybe now in the wetter months bugs would be more noticeable!

This place is great. So many things to do. But skip the pizza, you'll thank me later.
@parentsattheparks6 ай бұрын
Our group was divided on the pizza, about half liked it and the other half thought it was "meh". Either way, it is a decent value by Disney standards to feed a family. But we would definitely choose the family chicken meal over the pizza!

What month? Not June, in Florida. Million degrees? Nope
@parentsattheparks6 ай бұрын
Winter and spring would be best for tent camping. But the new cabins would be great year round!

Yea, only time I go to Florida. May through November is a no go

Just need to take out a second mortgage to be able to afford to both stay there AND pay for ALL the “activities” they offer. To each their own.
@parentsattheparks5 ай бұрын
We found the nightly rate of $103 to be a quite affordable! The golf cart at $60 a day is a bit pricey, but it really did make the whole trip more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend trying to budget for that to anyone going. As for the activities, we also thought those had a nice range in prices. Canoeing was our favorite thing that we did and it was about $20 for an hour, the pony ride was $10, making slime was $5, and the awesome campfire sing-a-long is free! Now to do ALL of the activities offered would be expensive, but we're guessing most people don't have the desire to or time!
@TrimansWife5 ай бұрын
@@parentsattheparks how did you get a site for $103? I also dislike that they do not offer military discounts. Glad you all can make it work though!
