He was meant to be one of the thralls digging the mind flayer out after the crash! The parasite was making him see it as dynaheir! You'd recruit him by snapping him out of it :) he was planned to be romanceable too, he has a placeholder dialogue file for selecting him as your partner at the tiefling party 🥲 they took everything from us....I've datamined all his completed dialogue from ea and his and boos models on my Twitter but KZbin didn't like me posting the thread link 💔

Phalur aluve will help boo damage by adding 1d4 thunder to each hit. Cleric can aid and shield of faith to help suvivabiltiy. Same with zevlors gloves gives him blade ward on heal, as well as volos ring will give bless. Best of luck!

It's unfortunately too late at this point because Minthara was defeated at the grove but her Brand giving extra movement and fire damage from a bonus action could've potentially been a great buff to dps as well

I assume you already know about this but: Spells like aid and heroe's feast do 100% work on minions. In my own runs I'd always throw it on "the homies" (aka the four ghouls) and it gets them to like 60+hp. Combine that with warding bond and good healing and you should have a boo that won't be going down ever.

If Boo is like other familiars I believe pact the chain warlock at level 5 should grant an extra attack to him.

Don't forget, you can throw hill giant strength on boo for 10 turns of 21 str. :)

You might want to consider changing Minsc to a Pact of the Chain Warlock so that at 5th Level Boo can get an Extra attack. Also IDK if you’re doing so already but casting Aid can increase everyone’s (including Boo) max Hitpoints for just a little more survivability

I've seen it said online (haven't personally confirmed) that thrown Boo is eligible to proc Sneak Attack. Rogue (maybe Rogue/Zerker) might be the move for Minsc.

13:50 Game crashed on me recently too, was raiding the grove and it got stuck on Minthara's turn. Game was freezing every few seconds, and it was using 20-25gb of ram fluctuating. I guess it was karma for my evil run, but even the crashes in this game are rather tame. Tough run, best of luck

Love the run, great idea. You should look into using Aid for Boo to hopefully keep him alive longer. Also, if you apply the Chilled condition followed by the Wet condition, then the enemy will be Frozen and become vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage. You can get the Cold Snap dagger to apply Chilled on miss and then Wet them after for the debuff. Coldbrim Hat applies Encrusted with Frost which freezes them after 7 stacks, could use true strike to stack that up and get the vulnerability that way. Theres a second hat in sorcerous sundries after you get the one from balthy so that might scale well enough in the end game. Not sure if armor of agathys is allowed but that could be another method of stacking chill for freezing. Since you cant cast it on boo it woild have to be on minsc and idk if that invalidates the rules of the run or not. Fire shield could also work if thats a valid strat. For act 2 and onward you might need phalar aluve for the damage riders. Idk if they will affect Boo though, if so then thats probably not an option. Tbh most of the normal damage rider stuff might be out if they affect him. Amulet of Branding will let you do a bit more damage for one attack and obviously luck of the far realms will maximize that.

That barter window drag items over exploit was great, you’d get a shit ton of gold the vendor would get even more gold everyone was just swimming in gold. One time in act 3 I was doing it with high level scrolls at sorcerous sundries and by the end Roland had 200 k and I had even more… good times

If you use Phalar Aluve and cast shriek, all enemies in range will take an additional d4 of thunder damage on a hit. You can get Phalar Aluve in the Underdark in Act 1. So this should give you some more damage when doing improvised melee weapon attacks.

Just tested this exploit today, still works: give backpack to vendor, put all items from vendor you want in backpack, close backpack window, switch to non-trading party character, double-click backpack with them, close trade window, press space to Loot All the now open backpack
