from force perspective, what is the difference? Only real life problem - actually hit the arrow in middle. Yes, it is plausible, no, chances to it happen like in myths almost non-existent. I guess chances for bullets hit each other are higher than this. But from physics perspective, slicing with katana will add extra force and even with 15lb bow, arrow could be split on two.

Only possible exception that katana may be more powerful than 15lb bow, but force itself it similar. With cutting katana you just get extra force to cut arrow completely.

Honestly, my first reaction would be yes. But, only under extreme circumstances. However, I have a friend who practices archery almost every day each summer. He has the best accuracy I’ve ever seen a person have in any sport or game in person. He doesn’t do it for the fame, just for the fun of it. Anyway, last year we went to an outdoor place to do archery, and he fired an arrow from his bow. HE HIT ANOTHER ARROW, stuck in the target, PERFECTLY IN HALF WITH HIS ARROW BREAKING IT INTO 2 PIECES FROM a respectable distance of 35 YARDS. Everyone there, whether working or for fun, had never seen such a shot like it. To top it all off, they gave him the two pieces of the arrow to keep as a sort of trophy to bring home. Which was one of many, because we both genuinely can’t remember, or count, how much he even owned at the time, and still don’t to this day.

A big part of a Katana cutting is in its slicing... The arrow not going through could be the Katana not as sharp as possible, which has a lot to do with material, or the stand absorbing some of the pressure. Or anything else.
