I’m late but a little tip. Your jab is to your find your range, blind your opponent, set up other strikes, and stop your opponent when used properly. Throw the jab from outside, to get inside. Once your inside the jab is dam near useless, I notice when your fighting on the inside you throw a lot of short jabs that don’t do anything. Once your inside throw short punches, hooks and uppercuts to the head and to the body. Your long punches won’t be able to fully extend because your way to close, your only opening yourself up to get hit when you throw those. On the inside I would stick to short combinations up and down to confuse the opponent.
