A very nice video. The watch has the looks, I do feel it comes up a little short in all but the most formal settings. I do yearn to have that one watch like our parents or grandparents had. They possessed the character of " be on time" but saved and spent their money elsewhere. If you choose this is the path, and this watch, and focus your life on something important like friends and family, or studies or a life partner, you will be so much more content than the rest of us. I wish you much success on this journey.

It’s tough. Our fathers and grandfathers didn’t have to deal with the algorithm. Every time you scroll social media or check your emails, there they are bobbing for your attention. Limit yourself to 5 and you’ll survive. Either you enjoy watches or ascetic pursuits :)

I wish I had the willpower to limit myself! Yes, It’s a constant battle with the algorithm, and I’m definitely losing. Watches are too tempting to resist 😅.

For someone who doesn't care that much for watches, yes it's perfectly possible to own only one watch, especially a good watch like the snx. But to enthusiasts is more than just own a reliable piece, is to appreciate good designs, history, specs of the watch, it's a conversation starter, a friend maker, etc. You don't have to buy 10,000 dollars watch to enjoy the hobbie, there's plenty of sub 1,000 dollars models that can be appreciated. Just be financially responsible and enjoy your life 👍

Interesting. I’m always looking for THE ONE. I owned a similar Seiko 5 with a midnight blue dial once. The low water resistance and lower quality movement moved me to flip it, but it’s the one I still miss. I do like the remake of the SNXS but it still a little dress for me

I think the SNXS got i little bit more character than the new one. What's your shortlist of THE ONE watch?😀

This watch is magical. It has wu. It's incredibly harmonic. I don't know any other watch that comes close. Even the Rolex oyster perpetual is less harmonic.

What kind of collector is that?! You can't call him watch collector at all. My first experience with watches was SEIKO 5 Automatic from 1979. I was 14 years old and I was happiest boy on the world. And that was the beginning. Since than I am in love with watches for life. Even my real first love come later in my life. Since than I have about 20 watches and I love them all. But I don't consider myself as a collector. I think I am more watch lover. I have never bought a watch just to have it like collection. Every timepiece (of art) I have was instant mutual attraction and I "must have" feeling. So if someone have only one watch in his life I respect that but that is not watch collector at all. It is just another guy with nice watch. By the way this SEIKO 5 reminds me all the way back. Great watch 🥰😍

That is very well said, as I mentioned in the video, the temptation to reach for more than one watch is too strong, i can restrain myself just to one watch, because of the simple and irrational love i have for them😀

I used to have the blue dial version of the SNXS. I considered making it my one and only, but I eventually sold it. One thing I really didn't like about it is how it sits on the wrist. Too tall and leaves a comically large gap. I didn't have a problem with the bracelet. It is light and comfortable. I always wear my watch loose as I can't stand anything sticking to my skin, so modern on-the-fly micro adjustment systems don't mean much to me. I guess it's nice to have an easily adjustable modern clasp but I really don't need it. Hacking and handwinding are also useless. Setting the SNXS with the 7S26 movement was so fast and easy. I also didn't like that it's a Rolex rip off. I prefer the more original design of my SRPE55K1.

The SRPE55K1 is lovely looking watch, it fits the roll perfectly for a one and only GADA watch. Thanks for sharing your experience.

@timepieceofart3 ай бұрын
I think their focus is more on the movement and overall build quality than on the one part of the watch that is easy to replace. The only braclet on a budget seiko that i like is the one found on the original Monster. Do you own any Seiko that have at least average bracelet?
@DatamarkSystemsSL-Spain3 ай бұрын
Yes but Not. I do own a SRPE5 that I bought with original Nato. Then I removed that Nato and added a Strapcode compatible bracelet (very decent quality) to it. I knew I had to avoid the original bracelet from the beginning.
@kresimirpleic12 сағат бұрын
@@DatamarkSystemsSL-Spain And that's where you're wrong in my opinion. I own and wear a SRPE55K1 as a daily watch and the bracelet is great. Yes, on paper it looks bad, but in reality it's super comfortable, very light (but still balances out the watch head), with female endlinks and a very thin clasp. Strapcode is heavy with a fat clasp and male end links, Islander has male endlinks and bad tolerances (I owned one and won't buy again), and Uncle is so overpriced I'd honestly rather just give the money away to somebody.

No way is the snx a one and only watch. Awful hardlex. No hack or hand wind. Dreadful bracelet. Massive display caseback which means the watch sits high above the wrist like a UFO just to catch a small glimpse of an extremely ugly movement. Pick up a JDM model instead. I just got a SARY057 for not much more than an snx costs. It has: Sapphire Crystal Hacking and handwinding. Beautiful bracelet. Sits against the wrist.

I think the SNX represents a watch that can fulfill all the needs of luxury watch at the fracto of the price. I think thant for most people it is more than enough. Thanks for your comment i really appreciate it.
