the main problem is exactly what Teddy pointed out. It’s a mental block. And izzy just not having it in him to press the action. He said he will this time.. we will see… but when he has tried that with Alex in the past he has got knocked out. Izzy is mainly a defensive precision counter striker. Not his normal style to press the action.

@ruin3r

Here's the problem for Izzy.. Pereira was JUST BARELY missing that left hook any time he got him against the cage. You can say Izzy was "winning rounds" but think of it this way: those were rounds Alex spent measuring, adjusting, calculating range until finally in R5 he finds the right way to throw that hook around Adesanya's guard and finishes him. So now Alex already has 20 minutes of practice on how to get to Izzy in MMA gloves, I see him getting it done faster, R2 or 3 TKO/KO this time. Izzy is in perilous danger any time his back touches the cage in this fight.

fan of the show but I feel like the bias shouldn't influence the fight predictions despite the shane mosley example teddy gave in the video. I also don't understand people online saying that because izzy was winning the second fight, rocked alex but only lost because of a late final round ko. meaning the more experienced mma fighter, izzy, he should win this time was the exact same argument going into the third fight, yet people still bring up the same argument because izzy rocked alex in the 1st round in the third fight and now bring that argument into the 4th fight. but because of that I thought izzy had a chance, but personally I think alex is in his head, recent press conference showed that. As teddy said some people just have your number. Personally I think alex stops or even ko's izzy but I could be wrong.

Nah very inaccurate. He attacked at the end of round 1, what happened? He attacked in the first quarter of round 4 (where Alex was completely gassed out from round 3), and he got many connections. However, Izzy was not used to a fighter like Alex who immediately closes the distance to Izzy which all others before were scared to do. Thats why Izzy looked defensive but he actually was more successful in terms of connection in the stand up until the TKO. Adjustments for Izzy to make: (1) Don't throw reacting leg kicks after Pereira threw one as Pereira checks these kicks then (2) Don't let yourself pressure against the fence too often and don't rely on Ali's "rope a dope" tactic. One power shot with MMA gloves can be enough for Pereira to end the party (3) Be careful with your wide stance, because Pereira made use of it by kicking your right leg when you're in southpaw stance. (4) What Teddy said. Mentality. Find a way to win and simultaneously don't be scared to trade with Pereira, go inside and attack him

I am an izzy fan, izzy respects and fears his opponents as well.. but izzy is stupidly brave. Jones is more tactical. Izzy is “hey I’ll fucking fight him tomorrow and him next week” then do it. I think a strong and fast spinning back kick would be a good tool for Adesanya to use because the two reasons why he lost in my eyes is the heavy leg kicks that took away his mobility in combination the fact that he kept getting pressed against the cage. He can't keep giving Perriera room to control spacing. When Izzy control spacing he wins the encounters majority of the time.

Did you get this idea when Izzy was doing the mashed potato in the 5th round of the last fight? All Pereira has to do is connect once in 25 mins. Izzy has to be perfect, he has to avoid the cage, he has to grapple against his nature, he has to beat the demons in his head because he's 0-3 with 2 straight stoppage losses against this guy, and he gets no tune-up fight. I think Pereira is the clear favorite for people not thinking with their wishes.

@@crashstitches79 fair reply aside from the unnecessary aggression. I got this from Izzy hitting Alex, and hurting him, with the same stiff jab offbeat two in all their fights (including when he hit him with a barrage of twos in the second fight (leading to the count)). Izzy needs to sick and move, not get greedy. He isn’t going to knock Alex out most likely, and I would say he basically lost bc he was trying for combos that were too long. He needs to only do one or two combos in each stance before switching, and constantly switch every few combos southpaw to orthodox, and just straight up our point Alex. Maybe a takedown or two for good measure. Ground and pound is the only time he can really afford to open up on Alex imo. Alex has too much durability and too much ability to hit hard even when hurt and tired.

in most his fights Stylebender use mostly counter fighting style ,eg waiting for opponent to strike and make mistakes and capitalise which works on everyone in middle weight division except Poatan a bigger stronger powerful Pataxo warrior ready for war ,he needs to approach this fight like Gastelum fight,all out brawl don't give him a chance, counter fighters generally back off after heavy exchange which favours Poatan that's how he recovers.if Stylebender backs off its going to be a repeat of last fight.

I think Izzy came prepared to brawl in the previous fight against Pereira because he had something to prove. Izzy could have won that fight if he had stuck to his typical fight plan - maintain distance, counter, and evade. He was very uncharacteristic in attempting to wrestle and brawl with Poatan who has a devastating hook.
@supersouljah5326
@supersouljah5326 Жыл бұрын
@@seun-ohm yes parts of the fight he threw down, but when Stylebender let off the pressure where he had Alex in trouble a few times, but Poatan recovered and started to find his range ,and smash that calf and leg which gave him problems later on,then tried to do a Nganou and wrestle him,easier said than done cause Poatan so strong and durable and has that grenade in that left hook.

Statistically, rematches in MMA favour the fighter who won previously, unless, like in the case of Stipe-Nagannou, one guy had an off night. Izzy might need to do what Khabib did with Gaethjhe and just pressure Alex from the start. Alex cuts a lot of weight, which effects his gas tank, plus Izzy already understands his range and movement, so he doesn’t have to go through the usual feeling out process. If he stands too long with him and doesn’t tire out Alex’s arms by grappling and making him carry his weight, he’s going to be vulnerable to a knockout like the last few times.

Adesanya worst enemy is himself. He will lose not Pereira winning. He may be winning the battle but excess of confidence or the need to proof he can beat up Pereira will make him vulnerable. When that will happen one Pereira's punch will cause Izzy to panic again Pereira by knock out
